Hello!

I posted here once before about this same subject but it was months ago and things have changed a little. I'm looking to move down to the area of UCF's Rosen College of Hospitality (9907 Universal Blvd Orlando, FL 32819) sometime in December of this year. I've been looking at a lot of places and the general consensus is that anywhere super close is relatively dangerous. I'm a petite girl, but I'll be living with my 6'5 boyfriend and almost never be home alone.

Are there any recommendations within about a 20 minute drive from Rosen that won't result in having my house broken into? I don't have a preference in the type of housing - condo, apartment and house are all fine but obviously I'm only looking to rent and not buy. I would prefer a 2 bedroom because we'd love to have an office space but I'd totally do a 1 bedroom in a safer area if that's all we can get for the price. We're poor college students so we're looking to keep rent around the $700-800 mark if possible. Also, I must be able to bring my cat. Naturally we expect to pay a pet deposit and possibly a little additional pet rent.

We've been to see West Winds and Westbrook and both of them seemed alright but a little bit sketchy. I've heard good things about Vista Cay but aren't those privately owned condos? I'm having a hard time finding a price range for Vista Cay but I've heard it's a little more expensive than we're looking for.

I'm mainly looking for personal experience. It's not that I don't appreciate you citing reviews from other sites, it's just that I've already scoured the internet so I'd really love to have some opinions from real people I can put a username to.

Basically, any recommendations would be great!

Thanks in advance!
