Default driving in the emergency lane

dont do it. ppl were killed last week by a man driving (passing, drving like an idiot) in and out of the emergency lane. i saw someone doing this on i-4 yesterday. just trying to get ahead. i would never let him get back onto the highway, but either someone did, or he butted his way back on the roadway. i have never seen things like this before.

this post doesnt need any responses, i just had to vent. when ppl come to orlando to visit, and i have to drive on major highways around here, i truly get embarassed by all the bad driving. how do ppl even stand driving to and from work on i-4? i would turn down a job offer if i had to personally. it is all about me, me, me!!! they had a thing on the news about driving in orlando and road rage. it's getting serious here, and i personally think orlando is going down the tubes. went shopping yesterday, and hardly anyone spoke english. how long before i am the minority in orlando as a caucasian???

whats an emergency lane?

I drive I4 daily. It sucks, but after getting use to it, its not that bad. To do 70 you have to change lanes every 30 seconds due to idiots who don't know the rule of "slower traffic keep right!"

Slower traffic keep right would have been a law.. but I beleive the mayor ruled against it; saying people that drive slow in the left lane are "safe"

BAH! Many other states have this law.. Florida just plain sucks

People who drive in the emergency lanes are true idiots!

All I've got to say is that "some" people know about this activity; watch in their rear-view mirrors for it; and make a sport of running these folks into the ditch, if the opportunity arrises.

It's generally not very bright to drive on the shoulder since there's more likely to be nails and other sharp things there...

I didn't see any specific instances of road rage, but there were a couple of bad accidents where it looked like someone probably died

I don't have a problem with driving fast - IF traffic allows. Fast drivers don't scare me - it's the ones who are constantly darting in and out of traffic lanes at high speeds that cause the accidents. They are the most dangerous drivers out there.

We can all drive 70 safely together, it's when that idiot switching lanes dangerously and quickly at 100 goes by that causes an accident. PLEASE STOP.

After reading this forum for a few months before I moved here, the only thing that had me worried was the traffic. Since I got here I have haven't seen any bad traffic with one exception: driving down I-4 at 6:15 in the morning was the scariest driving experience of my life that didn't involve actually being in an accident. In truth, the accident I had once lasted for a fraction of a second, while the trip down I-4 was like twenty minutes, so the total fear was probably more for the trip down I-4. I think I'll be avoiding the highways here as much as possible. I set my GPS to avoid highways and it hasn't been taking me long to get places on alternate routes.

i had maybe seen someone passing in the emergency lane once in the year i had been here, then after it was on the news about someone being killed i saw it 4 times in the week after it was on the news, its almost as if seeing it on the news gave these people a new idea on how to be even more stupid

Smile Rule of traffic speed

Dontcha know that anyone driving faster than you is a maniac, anyone driving slower than you is an idiot? Of course, you are the only one doing the "proper" speed
