Id like to move to Orlando or near Orlando. What is a good area to live and what schools are good. I have 4 children 10,11, 13,and 14. We live in Baltimore now. Id like to move the summer of 2011.

Without knowing your new home criteria others than I'll assume at least 4 bedrooms and price range, Lake Mary, Lake Nona, Windermere area on the back side of Disney (look on a map for Reams Road), Oveido, these should get you started.

Hope this helps,

Where will you be working? There are good areas with good schools scattered around many parts of the Greater Orlando area. The area is very large and traffic can be heavy, so you'll want to figure out where you'll be working and then find a place nearby with a reasonable commute.

Look at Baldwin Park in Orlando or baldwinparkfl.com

The neighborhood is 3 miles to the downtown and is a self contained neighborhood with restaurants, shopping and banks, bike trails etc.

It takes us 10 minutes to walk to shopping. We are constantly amazed that we can stop at CVS, have lunch at one of the restaurants, stop by Suntrust Bank and then pick something up at Publix and walk home.

Elementary and Middle School on site and Winter Park HS just off. For FL the schools are good.

I'd say Windermere/Dr. Phillips or Winter Park as they're very nice areas in general and have better schools. Those areas will be a little pricey, but another area that's nice and a little less of a cost to live is the Conway area...but you have to know the "right" areas, not that any are bad per say but just kind of a dingy feel in some small, pocket areas.

I hear a lot of the schools in the 'burbs north of Orlando, like in Lake Mary & Altamonte, are good, but I'm not too familiar with the northern 'burbs.
