There goes the electric bill again, just when it was going down. I wish I had a fireplace!

While you guys were in the mid 80s in FL, it was in the mid 40s here in Las Vegas. Thanksgiving Day we had a brief snow flurry as well. And about a week and a half ago, while pulling into a grocery store parking lot, my car had slipped on some ice. Not fun as I remember that had happened this past January driving down John Young Parkway on my way to work the day it "snowed" in Orlando

Out here we now have some snow capped mountains and they look absolutely beautiful. As long as the snow stays up there and doesn't come down to the city, it will be all good to me.

While you guys have been colder than normal, it has been warmer than normal out here. We went from being in the 40s and 50s last week (which is typical Vegas weather in January) to the upper 60s and low 70s this coming weekend

Bundle up guys and hope OUC really lives up to being "The Reliable One"

Wow man you must really miss us if you're reciting the power company's catch phrase on here lol. In all seriousness though, this weekend is going to be absolutely perfect weather wise.

I used to hear "The Reliable One" all the time and I always thought of it whenever I drove by the OUC building off I-4 in downtown Orlando

Its engrained in my head

That's pretty funny because it's not like they really need to market anyway. After all, utility companies are government controlled monopolies that, depending on where you live, you are assigned to one and just have to deal. Deal with poor customer no-service, outages, higher rates, etc. Maybe they should change it to OUC: "The Required One".

It looks like the arctic blast will moderate when it reaches us in Orlando early next week. Still chilly but not as bad as expected. We'll be fine.

I moved here in June 2009 and I had a big fear of the summers. I didn't like heatt, grew up in Lake Tahoe and was always a "cold" person. That first summer was bad.

Then in January of this year I wanted the cold to go away and summer to come back.

I really enjoyed this last summer (was it cooler than the previous or did I just get used to it?)

i am now bundled up like there is 4 feet of snow on the ground,,,what the heck happened to me?
Ah well, I will go make some hot chocolate tonight and put out my t-shirt for tomorrow.

Life is Good.

Teens / low 20's here at night. It's cold. I go out to walk my dogs and I'm too stubborn to pile on the clothes, so I walk out with my shorts, tee shirt and sandals on and hope my dogs take a quick dump. Gross I know. But it is what it is.
