I am a white woman and want to raise my children in a mostly white neighborhood. I am living in a aneighborhood that is only about 20% white & I feel like the black Mom's wont "let me in". The don't invite me to do anything. The few hispanic Mom's don't speak english. So, hate me if you will... but I want to be in a more white neighborhood. Any one know of a nice white neighborhood with homes about $300- $400K in northwest Orange or Seminole County?

I don't like some of your statements but will give you an answer anyway.
Seminole County: Winter Springs Lake Mary Orange County: Windermere the NORTH side of Apopka. |

I grew up in NYC. I went to a HS that was 4% white. I WANT my kids to live in a racially diverse area. That is why I chose Apopka. But, I am lonely in my own neighborhood. Isn't it just as bad for a bunch of black women to leave out a white one as it is for a bunch of white women to leave out a black one? I don't think I am being racist. I have tried to mingle. Everyone gets quiet when I walk up. They don't invite me to playdates. I have tried inviting them. I moved from a neighborhood that was 90% white. I really do want my kids to grown up with racial diversity. But at what cost? So, I am forced to move again. That is why I asked for a prodominatley white neighborhood. Anyone know of any in the Apopka area?

Seriously,
If you want to stay in the Apopka area, get to the north side of 441. IE....get north of the RR tracks. Get on Park Ave (maybe called Rock Springs Rd now) to head towards Welch Rd. Or stay north of SR 441 and head towards Piedmont Wekiwa. When you get to the intersection of 441 and Peidmont Wekiwa take a left. Lots of nice housing in there. My friends live near Welch Rd and their area is predominatly white. Good luck in your search. Sorry I was so "witchy" before. |

Thank you captnemo62. I looked back at my first post & could see why your 1st impression would have been that way. I think we are going to look in Oak Hill Reserve. It seems to be somewhat diverse. I saw some families outside playing. I just want a neighborhood where my kids can play with other kids. Where Mom's get together and can hang around a cul-de-sac while the kids play. Hopefully I'm not asking for something that just doesn't exist anymore.

Oh, so you are talking at subdivision level. I moved away from Seminole a couple years ago, so I can not speak for that anymore. Still,I think anywhere in Oviedo is a good bet and is family friendly.
