Default Orlando Seafood Restaurants

Looking for a non-touristy, reasonably priced seafood restaurants in south Orlando. Is that possible? Also, what about Cuban or Mexican food? Looking for local restaurants or small local chains. I promise we won't act like tourists when we are there. But there is no help for how we dress. Thanks

I am from Texas and I have lived here since 2001. I finally found what I consider to be a VERY good Mexican place.

Garibali's at the Florida Mall, I believe they have another location at Kissimee as well but I have never been there. The one at the Florida Mall is in the parking lot, you know one of those satelite type restaurants, I believe its right across from Old Time Pottery and on the same side as Red Lobster

The selection was good, the food was fresh, I could tell the Tamale I had was hand made. Really good stuff.

The service was also very good.

I would love to see what everyone else has to say about good places to eat, especially a good seafood place, I have not found one yet other then places like Joes Crab shack and those are so samey.

Boston's Fish House (everyone knows it as Boston's) is not in south Orlando but it is worth making a note of it if you are in the area. I recall they opened one south of Michigan on Orange but I think it has closed. As far as I know their restaurant on Almoa, about 1 mile +/- east of Semoran is still open. Food is excellent, no frills, low-moderately priced. Shorts and t-shirt atmosphere. Don't recall if they serve alcohol. Fried and broiled seafood. A cut above Red Lobster and Shells in my book. Haven't been there in a while.

Mike/Central Florida

I would say "Moonfish" on Sand Lake Road in Doctor Phillips is a really good seafood resturant...it can get expensive but some things are a little cheaper there......i dont have alot of money and deliver pizza but on Valentine's Day i took my girl there and i ordered some coconut shrimp and she had the salmon and the bill was about 38 dollars but it was worth it .....those coconut shrimp were an apetizer and each one was the size of my palm and im 6"2-6"3 and it came with 5 of those in the appetizer and some nice bread........its really classy but not like that place in the movie "Blues Brothers" where they ask how much for the girl....dont get me wrong ...i saw things on the menu that were like 40 dollars like swordfish and other kinds but if you look they have some affordable things and it tastes excellent and the service was awesome ....just get a reservation before going or the wait might be long

Right on Lisa! Girabali's is the best! We do have one here in Kissimmee right on 192 a mile west of John Young. For that area it is not very touristy but it can get pretty busy because of the people who come from all over Central Florida just to eat there. Great food and great atmosphere. (You would never believe that it used to be a Kenny Rogers Roasters LOL)

Sorry I can not help you with the sea food restaurants - I have been looking for a good one for years now.

I love the Celebration Town Tavern. One of the few places in Florida that actually has steamers. Being a New Englander, I would even vouch for the chowder.

When I eat seafood I get simple stuff like shrimp; so Bahama Breeze gets the job done for me.. However if you like sushi I suggest Fuji Sushi in dr. phillips

Wink Steamers

There is a seafood market in Kissimmee that carries steamer clams. They usually sell out becuase they are very hard to find. The name of the market is 4 Shore Seafood. Very nice people and very clean.
