It depends on what you are looking for, neither place is perfect and both have many pros and cons. In general, based on personal choice I would say Florida is better, but then again everyone is different. Here are some pros and cons to look at:

Florida:
Weather is Sunny and Warm Year Round (Pro)
Quality of Life is Better (Pro)
Affordable Housing (Pro)
Lower Wages (Con)
Less Career Growth (Con)

New York:
Weather is Cold and Depressing (Con)
Housing is Very Expensive (Con)
Higher Wages (Pro)
Lots of Career Opportunities (Pro)
History and Culture (Pro)

To summarize things, I would say if you are willing to sacrifice quality of life for a higher paying job then go for NYC, otherwise stick with Florida where you will be comfortable and likely happier at a personal level..

There is no comparison between the two states. They are totally different.

I agree that they can't be compared, especially NYC with any city in FL. I prefer my life here to the one I had there but there are pros and cons to each place and those are going to vary person to person. There are plenty of people who live in NYC who'd never want to live in FL and vice versa. Personally I would like to move back to NYC some day, but it is hard to live there.

Yes. There are pros and cons. When the cons outweigh the pros, its an easy decision.
