Default sanford man robbed for 2.50

Seminole County Sheriff’s investigators are looking for men who robbed a Sanford man of what little money he had after he went to a pharmacy and could not afford pain pills he needed.

The man, who recently had knee replacement, trued to get pain pills, but only had $2.50 in his pocket and couldn’t pay for them, deputies said.

A well-dressed couple offered to take him to another pharmacy, claiming the medicine was be cheaper there, and the man got into their dark blue Chevrolet.

They traveled east of Sanford on State Road 46 and stopped in the area of 21st Street and Sipes Avenue in the Midway community where two men got into the back of the car and robbed the man of the $2.50, as well has his cell phone and bus pass. The man, who was not hurt, was released a short time later.
