Sorry, I don't know the name of the area. My friend is living there. I'm up north and thinking of moving down there.
Is this a decent area to be in? Somewhat safe?
I just recently read on here how bad the crime is.

To be more specific, he's around 423 and American Blvd, right by Lake Buchanan. Is this a bad area to live in?

Don't care to be around hispanic dominated areas either.
If this area isn't good, is there somewhere close that is a nice safe area, that I will still be close to him?

I'm not really familiar with the area but it is behind the Millenia Mall which is generally a pretty bad area. John Young (423) and SOBT are also not nice. I would look elsewhere. Where will you be working?

I agree, it is pretty bad. . If you are talking about Park Central Apartments then they are gated but again crime is pretty bad and you get a nice view of the county jail from your bedroom. Look over in the 34786 (Windermere) which is not too far away from this area but much nicer. Good Luck!

Thanks. Yeah he is in Park Central, I guess that's why it's okay there, it's gated.
I'll take a look in windermere.
I will be working from home for the most part.
However, I did not know the crime was so bad, so having second thoughts, kinda worries me. Though I assume a lot of people are saying it's so bad because it used to be so safe.

What aboutt he 32839 area but a new house 1-2 years old. Is it more likely to be in a better area, or will it still be a bad area?

I don't think the 32839 are has ever been nice. Living in a house in that area would not be much better. The last time I was in that area, not counting the mall, was going to a comic store where DB ordered some comics. This was on a Saturday, in the afternoon, and the area was very dirty and ghetto. I went to college in Baltimore, where there are quite a few ghetto areas, and this area rivals some of those.

You don't have to take out word for it, take a trip down here and I'm sure you will change your mind about the area.

Thanks.
I started looking in Lake Mary. A lot of houses to choose from.
Seems a lot of houses for sale, and not many people buying, a lot of reduction in prices of the houses on the market. (In Orlando in general not just LM)
Only thing about LM is it's about 40min drive away from my friend, when traffic is quiet, kinda sucks.
