Ok, so I have a question about Florida counties… we have Dade and Miami-Dade. I thought Miami was in Dade. Is Miami-Dade an actual county or is that only how they refer to the greater Miami area? Kinda like calling this area as Orlando-Orange. Speaking of things like that, I saw in the Ticked Off column where we are not Floridians. We are Floridans.

It's one county,a couple of years ago they decided to add the name Miami to what used to be Dade county to make it Miami-Dade county.I guess they just wanted people to make sure Miami is in Dade county.

Default I agree with doom

I think they might have added Miami-dade so people do know that Miami is down there. I'm not sure why because if I were going down to Miami I would just say Miami and if I were going to Dade county, not Miami but the surrounding area, I still would probably say Miami because I'm used to it. There are different Miami cities, too. There's the actual Miami, North Miami, Miami Beach, North Miami Beach, Miami Gardens, South Miami, and Miami Springs.

Oh yea and we are Floridians, not Floridans...don't know who said that, but they're wrong.

Every address in Miami-dade is a Miami address. For the postal service we're all "Miami, FL 33xxx". It was that way even before they changed the county name. Most people see it the same way too. It's all Miami.
