Hi all,
My friends & I are coming into town for the Disney Princess 1/2 Marathon next weekend and we are looking for an Italian Restaurant to eat at on Saturday night that is not too expensive, is child friendly and serves family style (or huge portions for those of us that are carb loading). We'll have cars, so it doesn't need to be something that's right on Disney's doorstep (in fact, it's probably better if it's not, so it won't be as busy or expensive). Many thanks!!

I'd recommend Cariera's, it's not too far from Disney (maybe 10 minutes from the main gate). Cariera's Cucina Italiana (http://www.carieras.com/DrPhillips/drphillips.html - broken link)

Macaroni Grille, although not strictly Italian, on Apopka -Vineland around the corner from Disney.

Il Mulino at the Swan, Disney ... has Family Style on their menu, although I have never ordered that way. We like the restaurant and dine there frequently. Great Italian wine list.

Other restaurants by Cuisine type

Goodfellas in east Orlando. About 30 mins from Disney but really good.

Buca Di Beppo is always fun and delicious... They serve family style. There's a location in Winter Park (my favorite) and at the Florida Mall.

You can almost always score a $10 off coupon in the paper every month. I guess that'll be hard if you aren't local, but if you happen to be here on a Sunday, you can do the gamble and buy the paper.

Il Pescatore on Primrose just East of downtown.

Cafe Italiano on Semoran S of Colonial are reasonable places and good.

The garlic knots at Goodfellas are the best in town... ( I ate there today)

Agreed. FYI to those who live in Seminole or West Volusia County, they opened another location in DeBary! (2955 Enterprise Road). Oddly enough they make no mention of it on their website...
