If anyone can help me i would really appreciate it. I am interested in becoming a motorcycle mechanic. I have heard many bad reviews on wyotech. I'm wondering if MMI Orlando is the same. I know absolutely nothing about mechanics other than how to change the oil and air filter. From the people that have already been there, do you think i would benefit from this school. Is it hands on? The last thing I want to do is spend all this money and end up reading and listening to people talk all the time. Do you think I would be able to walk out of there and no how to fix or construct a bike?

There's a very long thread on MMI already on these boards, maybe read through that and see if it answers your questions.

Here is a link to one thread about MMI. You might also want to ask in the automotive forum.

My Grandson went to Wyotech and has not bee able to get a job because he was just 19 when he graduated. No one would hire him due to insurance prices. He has a friend who graduated with him and he is working in a tire store changing tires. My grandson owes them 30K and he still can't get a job as a mechanic because he has no experience plus his age has hurt him.

My advice is to go to a Jr college or a Tech school unless you have someone who can pay for you to go to school.
