Does anyone know of the status of the Eagle Creek development? when they plan on building the commercial portion, the school, bike trails, etc.? I would like to purchase there, but the building pace is so slow that it looks like another 20 years until they will be done.

I think the infrastructure at medical center is moving along, but i hear the research labs are losing grants and not hiring. But this isn't something that can't be remedied when the economy picks up and dollars become available again.

INFO on Medical City
Hi, I'm Nickie a Real Estate Broker/Agent. What I know about the VA hospital comes from different Doctors who are Buyer's Clients of mine in that area. In December I have doctors being interviewed and looking at homes. SO, what does that mean, I would think that they are geting pretty close.

The obvious ones are contruction, to complete the medical city. But once that's done, I know there are plans for a commercial/retail "village center" so I imagine that would mean standard retail and business services jobs (banking, etc.). So basically any jobs you would associate with creating a new small town.

Unless you're medical professional, researcher, chemists, or technician I'm not really sure why you would expect to see other professional level jobs in a medical city. I'm sure they'll be some insurance executives and the like, but other than that, I'm not what other professionals would pair well within a medical city.

Unfortunately that's the battle cry of most looking for jobs in Orlando and some other areas of the state. There just aren't enough higher wage jobs to go around anymore as many have been replaced by lower paying service economy jobs. Sadly the choice seems to be coming down to living on 17K a year (which is impossible for most) or moving to another city/state where one can find the average 40K-45K jobs. Good luck!
