This is a question for people who live in Kissimmee. Is there a way to get through KIssimmee from the East side to the west side without driving on Rt. 192? Our son lives in Lindfield Estates and it usually takes us as long to get from the outskirts of Kissimmee to west of I-4 as it does from Melbourne to KIssimmee.

2nd question: never been downtown in KIssimmee. Are there antigue shops and cool architecture? Restaurants worth visiting?

Osceola Parkway will get you past a lot of that tourist traffic on Vine St (US 192). It's a toll road partially but well worth the toll. You can pick it up from the turnpike or Michigan Ave in East Kissimmee or even SOBT and take it to World Dr or I 4 in west Kissimmee to pick 192 back up and miss all that other junk!
Downtown Kissimmee has some shops (not a lot), and a few Mom & Pop restuarants. Nothing to really get to excited about in my opinion.
