Looking for area to start our home search. Need safety and only the best schools - have 4 young girls. Will be traveling to and from MCO 2x per week so prefer easy or quick ride. Coming from the midwest. It has been suggested we should look at winter park or baldwin park...good idea? others? price range isnt as important as safety and schools......

In addition to the 2 suggested maybe take a look at Dr. Phillips, Windermere, Belle Isle, Tuskawilla, Oviedo.

I agree with your choices and cranes rooster on the Dr. Phillips, Windermere but also take a look at Lake Nona, one of the newest areas, quiet now but everything is on the way.

Hope this helps,

I would also recommend Oviedo which has the best overall school system in the area with all public schools at every level "A" rated.

Baldwin Park is prob. a mile away.
Visit and make your own judgement.
The Executive Airports owners and their families live in Baldwin Park.

That's a bit of a hike to be near MCO. I would go with Dr Phillips, Lake Nona or Hunter's Creek, especially the first 2 as they both have good school districts are safe areas.

BP is actually an easy commute to OIA. You can take Conway or Semoran all the way down to OIA and be there in no time. I take that route all the time from downtown and it takes about 20-25 minutes.
