Default Working in Apopka - Where to live?

Hello everyone! I recently accepted a position in Apopka. I'm trying to figure out where to live to be convenient to "everything" without having a horrendous early morning commute.

Can anyone advise me on good places to live? I'm thinking of maybe Altamonte Springs, but I simply do not know. I've heard that I want to avoid renting an apartment in Apopka.

Depending on what you'll be able to afford....Actually there is only one really bad part of Apopka and that is south of the RR tracks. If you use SR 441 as a general guide stay to the north of it. Apopka actually blends into Altamonte Springs and the general rule applies....

Apopka is fairly accessible from the following areas that are fairly decent:

1. Altamonte Springs
2. Longwood (Lake Brantly area)
3. Maitland (west Maitland)
4. possibly Mt. Dora
5. Ocoee

I live in Apopka. While it's true that I have not been impressed with many of the apartments I have seen in Apopka, you can get some great deals right now on renting a house (in nice neighborhoods). What is your housing budget?

Well, I don't want to spend more than $750 a month, if possible.

I'm just starting out - this is my first "professional" job.

What part of Apopka are you talking about? Ghetto - you must be kidding! South of the tracks does have some problems ( just like there are "bad area's in Winter Park, Maitland, Winter Garden, Ocoee, Kissimmee, Orlando, and certainly South Orlando) Overall though for a city of it's size, you give it an unfair report.

What about the beautiful parks, first class sports facilities, golf courses, natural springs, friendly English speaking people, spacious tree filled lots, good road access, less congestion and overall probably a lot less crime and safer feel than most of South Orlando?
