Ok, I haven't been here in a while, but when I joined this forum to get info, deal, and cope with living in CFL, specifically Orlando, I indicated about three years ago that I would be moving out of here after 13 years of residency because of what Orlando has turned into. Well, it's not also because of what it's turned into, but in retrospect, it's never been my home. Now, I am down to my last year and this year is going by faster than I expected. My tone in this forum has changed from slamming Orlando and discouraging everyone to move here, to basically please find out for yourself, as my opinion is just that, my opinion. So no arguments here, just expressing my joy about leaving this place the same way people are expressing how happy they are to be moving to it. I hope everyone who decides to move down here that Orlando, FL that it turns out to be what they had hoped it to be, it just wasn't for me. I'll check in every now and then, as I dutifully count the days til my moving day sometime early 2012 (or sooner).

It's always nice to see somebody soften their rhetoric against Orlando to "try it before you knock it," thanks would normally be in order but so would an apology so I guess both sides are even. Good luck in your move.

At least I am strong enough to live here and survive/stay.

It has nothing to do with strength. The fact that you need strength to live somewhere says something about the place itself. It is just not home to me, your definition of home is different from mine. I'm moving to back to a place where many move away from, because it's too cold for them, that in itself takes some strength. So the strength you talk about is relative to where you live. I would like to say maybe this place wasn't strong enough to convince me to stay

Well, consider it an apology, but like I said, let those find out for themselves. Orlando is home to many, but it also isn't for just as many like me. That's all I'm saying these days, no knocking now, there's plenty here who are doing that other than me these days.

Last time I checked you need strength to live anywhere, unless you are living off the government.

Hey it may not be for everyone.

We love Orlando and it has been our home since 2004. We also feel home is in MI too.

Having said that "home" is where the heart is and maybe that's what ngrome meant and the only way to express their decision to come here and disappointment was to blame the whole city rather than him/ herself.

Good luck in your new location and hoping you are much happier there.
