I'm a new graduate in health care and am moving to Orlando shortly. I'll be working near UCF/Alafaya and would like to know what areas to look at for a short commute, nice area, large living space and low crime.

Since I'm not from the area, could you guys suggest me somewhere to go?
Here are my ideal criteria:

2/2
Nice kitchen (I like to cook)
Nice pool
Safe area
Classy place
Fitness room
Preferably under $1000 a month

Just what are the places that people desire to live? I can find a million hits on apartment finder websites, the places look nice, and some people love the places. Then there are the ubiquitous complaint posts. I can't trust that they are truth, unbiased, or up to date...

Thanks guys.

The list of areas to avoid would probably make it easier since there is a wide range of choices. The area around UCF itself is kind of congested and most complexes are overrun with students. By and large I would steer clear of any complexes around East Colonial Drive, Alafaya Trail or University Blvd.

You might check out the cluster of complexes in Oviedo just east of 417 near Aloma and Dean Road.

Elmhurst Village and Barrington Place? Are they upscale relatively?
