We are also from Massachusetts and interested in Winter Park. We have three dogs though, does anyone know if there are neighborhoods were that would be allowed?

Winter Park is old Florida. You'd have to go out of your way to find a gated community with HOA rules in the city.

Some people's kids...

There's a tiny bit of WP that is iffy, but certainly not "ghetto."

I recall the area behind the Winter Park Mall that was a run down area, historically.

Winter Park is very dog friendly. Lots of parks and areas to play. Lake Baldwin has a great dog park where dogs can play off their leash and go swimming.

That area was historically where the servants who worked in the mansions lived. I would hardly call the area ghetto. The people who live there are long time residence and take pride in their homes. It may not be as "spiffy" as the other side of the tracks but it is kept up.

Another point. People seem to be confused about what area the City of Winter Park encompasses. Winter Park does not include S.R. 436. The Winter Park Pines neighborhood isn't even in Winter Park. The Cady Way Bike Trail is actually the eastern most boarder for winter park.

Thanks, looking forward to visiting, it seems like the taxes are a bit higher in Winter Park compared to Sarasota and Tampa, it that because of the schools?

I agree. I never used the word "ghetto" in my post.
