The drive to/from Altamonte Springs would be anywhere from 45 minutes to an hour or more. If schools are a concern look at Lake Mary. It has arguably the best schools in the area and is a pretty easy 15-20 minute commute to Altamonte Springs.

Lake Brantley is in Altamonte Springs and it's one of the best high schools in Central Florida. You could live in the Sweetwater/Sabal Point area and kids could attend Sabal Point Elementary, Rock Lake Middle, and Lake Brantley High which are all 3 top rated schools.

Agree with Orl, Lake Brantley School District is just as good as Dr. Phillips. Most anyone in Central FL will tell you they are comparable.

The drive is fine in the AM if you leave early enough. Get on the road before 7:30 AM and you are golden.

Without traffic, it can take 25-30 mins. In the afternoon, it can 35-60 mins depending on the conditions on I-4. For some reason, fridays are a nightmare in the afternoons

^That's true about time, but with gas going up, Altamonte might be a real consideration.

i agree. If Altamonte was my primary workplace, I'd consider living downtown or north of dowtown (baldwin park, winter park, or just altamonte itself)
