Default Hotel ideas needed: visiting Winter Haven/Legoland

We're visiting Legoland in Winter Haven for the opening in Oct.

Could you share a top five list of great hotels to stay in?

Also any info. about Winter Haven in general would be great.

Restaurant suggestions would be appreciated too!

Thanks,

Alley

There is a hotel right in front of Legoland. It is older but I have stayed there and it is okay. I will try and find the name. It used to be a Comfort Inn. They have a nice restuarant on top but pricey and there is lots of fast food around, Publix supermarket just a block up the road.

I was trying to think of what else there is to do and honestly, there isn't much. If you like airplanes, there is Fantasy of Flight, out from Winter Haven. There is Bok Tower out from WH in Lake Wales. I don't know how old your kids are. It is a straight shot over to Vero Beach for a day trip but the actual one way is about 2 hours. Beautiful beaches. I will try and remember what else may be there. I am sure they are going to have all kinds of local things going on for the opening.

Best of luck.

It is now Best Western Park View Hotel, Legoland, Winter Haven, Fl. It used to be an Admirals Inn and Conference Ctr and at one point in time, I think, a Comfort Inn. It's been there a while but is basically okay. The pool is huge and I think they used it for training re Cypress Gardens. I loved the pool.

There are a couple of newer hotels around but they are considerably further away. Also, check bedbug.com, I think it is, for any reports. I have become rabid about that. LOL,

Hope you have a good time.
