Mitten51, If you have any questions about Solivita, you may IM me.

Does "Mitten" imply that you are in/from the Mitten State?

Mittens did you get your answers? If so could you share them with me? We were there this past winter and was very interested however, after reading about the crime we backed off. Now we are rethinking and will go back this winter to check it out again.

If anyone lives in this community could you share on what there is to do in the area?

Thanks,

There is virtually no crime in Solivita, or neighboring Bellalago.

Yes, there are lower income neighborhoods in Poinciana, but it is hardly the "dangerous ghetto" that some of the posters on C-D make it out to be.

Virtually all the nay sayers on C-D don't live here. My wife & I do. We do not find the traffic to be unmanageable, & we feel perfectly safe here. I'm 65 & my wife is 52. Our personal residence is in Bellalago (built by AV Homes, the same builder as Solivita) & we also own 3 rental properties in Poinciana. We know this area better than most.

Solivita is a huge community. You could safely walk around, or ride your bike or golf cart, to your heart's content, any time of the day. There's lots of pools, golfing, & all kinds of social activities going on every day of the week.

There are no criminals sneaking in during the middle of the night, or getting past the very diligent security guards.

We shop at the same Publix & Lowes & Walmart & Walgreens & CVS, & we go to the same Bank of America & Chase Bank that the Solivita residents use, & no Solivita residents are getting mugged or kidnapped.

For fun outside the immediate neighborhood, we go over to Manny's in Haines City, or Cherry Pocket down on Lake Pierce, or Bok Tower in Lake Wales, or lunch in Winter Haven, or Three Sisters or Savions up in Kissimmee. The list of fun things to do in the area is endless.

I think where some people have issues is sure you live there but you also make your living selling homes there... A bmw car salesman isnt going to tell you their annoyances about their own bmw.

No problem, annerk & BMW.

I give zero credibility to internet flamethrowers, who hide behind anonymous alternyms.

At least I have the guts to publicly identify myself, & stand behind my opinions.

We aren't soliciting business, so we have no reason to put our personal information out on the Internet. It's too bad that you aren't more upfront with your intentions. If you were more balanced and gave the DISADVANTAGES to living in that area (there are many) and told people you are pimping the area with the hopes of financial gain, we might actually have some respect for you.

Thanks for the info! So all are these all restaurants off the property? Living by the ocean all our lives we are a little concerned about how far the ocean is from Solivita. If there was plenty to do off the property it may convince us to buy. However, you can only go to Disney so many times
