Our HOA have installed a Barbed Wired fence on their common ground close to the community wall and the community main boulevard to prevent their residents from trespassing.

Orange county Code enforcement have told the HOA to remove it, but the HOA wants this fenced up for as long as they can. Is there a way to get this fence dismantled earlier then 45 days?

They have 15 days to remove it, then they have 30 days before being schedule for a hearing with Orange County. Justice takes time...

Wow! I'll bet that fence looks ugly! I don't blame you for wanting it gone

heres the problem: The hoa here has lawyers sending out letters to the residents here if we speak out on public forums, or cause a stink at the "meetings". Cease and desist letters with fines and attorney's fees included. Not to mention being labeled trouble maker and them looking for any way to send you those oh so friendly "violation" letters. I, myself, have become a little to "vocal" on another forum about the goings on that I don't agree with and all its caused me is aggravation. I haven't recieved one of those letters yet but I know of more then a few who have. I've come to realize..It's just not worth all the aggravation, life's too short. I grew up in a place where Hoa never exsisted, I didn't realize how ugly they could be at times. And I can see the other side of the coin, where the HOA is great and there is no, lets says , intimidation, for lack of a better word. My last neighborhood, which was my first hoa experience, out of state, had a great HOA. We never had these issues. It was actually fun.

Can you PM me this subdivision's name so that in a few months, when we're ready to buy a house I can stay clear of this subdivision? Thanks.

It is a very nice looking neighborhood with beautiful homes. The ammenities are nice here. I think if we could change out the board members then this would really be a great, fun place to live. And, If I can just keep my thoughts to myself and just live here i'll be fine..My problem is I can get mouthy, , which in turn gets me into trouble..

I PM'ed you to find out the name. I really can't believe they have someone going around to posting boards trying to figure out who the person is making statements. Rediculous. Sounds like they are in defense mode or so worried about their own home values that they don't want anyone saying anything. Sounds like an HOA run by Kim Jong-il!

Unfortunately there are no real regulations for HOA's and too many can get away with some wretched behavior. There are many really nice areas on the East side where this isn't the issue, I feel for you. persevere and make it what it should be. Vote them out.
