You are not going to stop the growth- EVER- so work to make it a better place. Is the leadership doing that? Are you voting for people who see the future? Do the city planners have vision?
WaltD did, and many other investors and developers do as well, but are we staying in balance? We can complain all day and all night long about the influx of people and Cuba is not open yet- What will you say then? If you are not happy- its a free country either go to lake Eola and get on a soap box for the media to come hear you or move where you will be happy

You said you don't like haters, but you hate the 1% and the elite.

LOL! Southeast Florida is the litigation capital of the Country.

Replace Mickey with South Beach and ambulance lawyers with those specializing in immigration, and you are describing your own precious Miami.

Absolutely NOT- but I don't like greed and people stepping on the necks of others to get rich- the many thieves in the mix that hurt loads of people with their Ponzi schemes etc.,( lots of unpunished corporate crimes still out there.)
I applaud people like Bill Gates who have given a large chunk of money for educational grants and scholarships. Many wealthy people do a lot of good, I hate the mentality of hating those who have less and blaming them for everything!

That's great, but everything is not a conspiracy in this world.

I know it seems like there is more now than just Disney but if Disney would somehow leave CF it would all crumble Universal included.

Think about it - (many many many) people are willing to pay $500 a night or more to stay in Disney when there is a perfectly good Holiday Inn Express minutes away for $90/night that includes a free breakfast. Also, the $500/night Disney room is booked 6 months to a year in advance while the $90/night HI Express can be booked for the next day. This is a very rare economic oddity that suggests that if it weren't for Disney no one would visit CF for tourism.

Here is another way to look at it. A week at Disney is more expensive than a week traveling Europe. Yet, millions come from all over the world to visit Disney even at this very premium price. However, if you skip Disney a week in CF can be a very cheap vacation yet very few people do this.

Believe me I am very fond of CF and have extensive family there and visit there very often but this is just my analysis of the economic situation. Disney is the foundation and key. There is nothing wrong with that. In DC it is the Federal government. In Las Vegas it is the gambling and so on...

Maybe 10+ years ago, but not now imo, universal has had record attendance to capacity in the last few years and has hiked single park prices inline with Disney. Plus they charge an arm and a leg at loews, and recently got into cheap properties like Disney with cabana bay.

Sea world is a great option for less financial well off people who want to enjoy theme parks in Orlando. The cheapest thrills are I drive and fun spot

Like I said, Disney started it and it would suck if they left, but Orlando wouldn't collapse.

Disney has become the cream of the crop, catering to the most affluent.

Interesting read in the Post. No enterprise on the face of the earth is better at separating you from your money than Disney...and you are happy to do it!

kids rule! you didn't know that? cereal- toys, outfits, shoes, movies, games and so forth- they want it parents will kill each other on a black Fri to get it - then part two --the parents want to feel lie kids again- anything not to face the monotonous reality of every day life-- therefore: VACATION!
I see these shows where they rent cabins in the mountains or cottages at a beach for $3000 a week or MORE! there is plenty of money to go around for worker's pay.

im curious about the education and culture you speak of. Orlando doesnt seem to have many colleges, but there seems to be a connection with the 2 big schools in Tallahassee. I could be wrong, Is there a high number of FSU and FAMU grads in Orlando? When you say Orlando has no culture many people come to Orlando from other countries. To not enjoy the theme park entertainment but to get a taste of the ever changing American culture. Or are you saying Orlando needs more cultural arts?
