My husband and I are new to the area. We live in Kissimmee off of 192 and Poinciana and we work off of OBT and Sand Lake Road. We are having a child in November and i am astonished at how expensive daycares are here. My son went to daycare up north and we paid 150 a week. Here they want 200 a week. i thought the cost of living was more reasonable, but it isn't and the cost of everything else, other than housing, is just as bad!
Does any one know of daycares for my soon to be newborn that are decent, not all hispanic and don't charge crazy rates?? Thanks |

Welcome to Central Florida! I am in Kissimmee myself and have 3 children - 2 of which have been in daycare. Here are a few that I would suggest:
La Petite 407.870.9155 Director: HEATHER RIGUAL 2825 ALICE BLVD KISSIMMEE, FL 34746-0000 I know most La Petite's have a bad reputation but this one is great from what I have heard. KinderCare Learning Center 400 Celebration Blvd Celebration, FL 34747 (407) 566-2445 Children's Castle Of Kissimmee 1431 N Central Ave Kissimmee, FL 34741 (407) 846-3955 This is probably the cheapest but the area of town is not as nice. Also, use this link: Untitled Page You can search for private providers this way and check out their inspection history and other useful information. PM me if you need more help and good luck! |

$800/month for a decent daycare for kids under 2 is about right. You can find cheaper daycares.....but, you get what you pay for. I wouldn't be sending my kid to some place that charges $400/month - you gotta wonder what they're doing to cut costs or supplement their income???

You can check with 4C for childcare. Based on your salary, you may be eligible for assistance with daycare costs.
