Smile Sam Behr, allied Discount tires

Sam Behr coined the term" Tires ain't Pretty" for his long time friend Stanley Hanin. Stan approached Sam and asked if he would be the spokesman for Allied Discount Tires on the radio and on television...and the rest is history. Sam owned Behr's Shoe Store on Church Street for 50 years with the slogan" We fit any size". Wish he were still in business, shoes are hard to find for narrow feet!

Anyone remember J Byrons? They all closed up in like 1996 and became Uptons which eventually closed too.

How about these tourist places:

Circus World which became Boardwalk & Baseball which became Baseball City which is now a shopping center under construction at Hwy 27 & I-4

Splendid China on 192

King Henry's Feast

China Coast Restaurant

Church Street Station with Rosie O'Grady's/Cheyenne Saloon (reopening by FEB under the original owner!!)

Mr. Toad's Wild Ride at Disney World

The Original Hard Rock Cafe on Kirkman Road with the Guitar Shaped Bar and the Psycho House at Universal Studios right behind it

Brunches at Olive Garden on I-Drive

The Sports Page Pub where the Outlet Mall now is on I-Drive

Jim and Tammy Faye Bakkers church next to the Sports Page Pub after their scandalous oust from the PTL Club

When UCF was basically a community college and they had that small arena where we could see hair band concerts really cheap in the 80s and 90s
Free access to watch time trials at the Daytona International Speedway

More recent loss- the Mercado on I-Drive and Race Rock Cafe on I-Drive

You know who else I forgot to mention is that obnoxious Tire Kingdom guy with the crown and the Allied Discount tire guy from the commercials.

yes, it was named after Captian Michael McCoy as is the Elementary School nearby. The restaurant in the airport was Johnny Unitis, the famous football player. I may have spelled his last name incorrectly but the restaurant was famous for steaks.

Man, I lived with my brother and his wife at Americana for a short while. We went to the Florida Festival. And I remember Off The Wall with the plane crashed in the side (I still have a picture of that). Wings and Wheels Museum was pretty fun. Eaten many times at Picadilly and Ronnies. (We always joked about the "smaltz" on the menu - nice, tasty bowl of chicken fat!) And Gatorland! Fun times. (Really?)

King Henry's Feast is gone? I haven't been to Orlando in a while, I'm living up in North Dakota so I have no idea of what's going on down there. That's a shame, I loved that place.
