I did not see it closely but people judge people too much on appearance.
Every time I go into a CVS or a grocery store or Target... I get wierd looks. It may be 90 degrees out but I'm wearing a motorcycle jacket and pants- because I value my hide. Yes, maybe I smell a little funky-leather-and-sweat but I don't give a crap. These people walking around, maybe they don't have the best taste in clothes, they could use a little better laundry detergent... but maybe it's not their fault? What have YOU done for these people. Nothing. It's OK for them to install your cable or serve your sandwiches but you are going to make snap judgements about people based on stains on their clothes? People down here in Florida are DIRT poor. Don't blame them. I am just warning people don't come here and expect to escape poverty, it won't happen. The other day I was stopped by some woman in a CVS parking lot and she was asking about how much a scooter like I ride would cost, and I said "2000 used" and she was shocked... she was dirt poor, looked like crap, and her Buick LeSabre's gas prices were killing her. It didn't satisfy her for me to tell her riding a motorcycle or scooter would A) cost alot more money than she planned B) be very dangerous in Orlando, especially if you use in lieu of all car trips. There are so many desperate people in this area, it is disgusting. If you have money and live in Orlando, you should be ashamed of yourself because this kind of misery is happening under your noses and you all do not care- you keep voting for people based on how much they hate gays and love Jesus, and not on what they are going to do to actually improve the area. |

Sorry i wasn't judging those people .....i too am poor.....i lived out of a station wagon at one point and on my salary i am lucky my mother allows me to live here with her at age 29......otherwise i would be in a shelter on my salary or a studio in the ghetto.....I was just calling things like i see it.......i dont know what else you would describe the look as........its like me saying i saw a black guy in one of my pics....and everyone gets all bent out of shape because i said the word black.....well hell i dont know what else to call him......there has to be a label or else i would be telling the dispatch on a 911 call that a human just robbed me....LOL.....I dont look down on anyone and i am not one of those people that grabs my wife/girlfriend when i see a homeless person and pretent he isnt there...when i feel God calling me to give to them i do and when i feel like they need someone to acknowledge that they are still a human i try to do my best at doing that if the situation is right because i did live dirt poor as a kid |

Ya know, it's posts like the majority of the ones on here, that make people decide to LEAVE cd and not come back. Most of them are not intended to help anyone or to be proactive for positive change. They are just people spreading their negativity, and I for one can do without it.
Good Luck to the person moving to Orlando. There are plenty of nice areas, but of course Florida has transients because it's warm most of the year round. You will mostly see them on street corners or by off ramp of the interstates. I am sure NYC has them as well. Most New Yorkers I've met, love Florida. My husband is british and there are a TON of brits in orlando also. You will find your place to call home. |

Why would these words scare people enough to move?....I would think your own experience would do that. |
