lots of inv bankers and traders??? in orlando???

i'm not talking about financial advisors or loan officers, i'm talking about inv bankers and commodities/bond/traders!?! i am pretty sure orlando doesnt have a large presence of these.

i have my mba and work in real estate development, and i am not too familiar with many inv bankers in orlando. but maybe your right, i'm not getting out enough?!?

I haven't seen to many Inv Bankers either, no big firms are based out of Orlando. Tampa has quite a few though.

I definetly recommend downtown orlando for happy hour. I like Big Belly Brewery on Church street wednesdays for their nickle beer nights. We usually go with a group of 10 to 20, have dinner around 830 after nickle beers and end up wherever we end up afterward.

Be thankful. Jacksonville is all smoke and mirrors. Dismal job market. Orlando is much better from all my research.

Mercantile, PCE, I think Suntrust has an investment banking arm - I think there are others. Between Rollins College, UCF, Stetson, and the other private colleges in and around Orlando, they're cranking out the MBA's at a rappid pace.

No, we don't have a comodities exchange or even a stock exchange yet, but that doesn't mean we don't have a wide range of young professionals in this town. Believe me, we do! (and that's without mentioning Lockheed Martin, and the gobs of professional engineers and architects we have in this town.

backtofla, trust me.....neither place is good then. I don't care what you keep reading on this forum. Florida is Florida. There is no such thing as old Florida anymore unless you live in some one-horse forgotten about town near Lake Okeechobee or something maybe. Jacksonville is old school and backward but not in an old Florida pleasant kind of way. Much worse crime than Orlandorico. Predominantly uneducated and violent undesirable population. S. Florida is much nicer and well to do but full of scam artist illegals. Much better than Jacksonville overall though. You just have to watch yourself.

backtofla = born + raised floridian.

i've lived in south fla and now central fla. hoping to move to northern fla. even if northern fla is a little backwards and redneck/uneducated, i'd take it over orlando w/o hesitation. south fla? i'd probably move to martin or indian river county somewhere. in fact, i was looking at houses for sale in sebastian a couple days ago.
