Default The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly of Orlando

here is just a couple of pics of some areas ive been around in Orlando the last couple weeks. I just got this camera and want to show the different areas of Orlando instead of arguing about what is bad or not.

Anyone can have an opinion but these pics might help outsiders make a determination on whether or not they think an area is for them.

Whoever has other pics please add them so we can see what different areas of Orlando and Central Florida look like..

"The Good"

These are some pics i took in the Doctor Phillips area and the main road to look for on the map would be Sand Lake Rd. on the west side of I-4

"The Bad"

These were taken on my way home the other day on Orange Blossom Trail north of 408 Expressway and South of Colonial Drive. This isnt in the projects because im not going to ride through the back streets but these are off of OBT and Colonial Drive near Pine Hills

The Ugly: not the true ghetto but almost there. The following area is in Southwest Orlando just east of the Mall of Millenia. These are the main streets in this area.......
S. Rio Grande Ave., Americana Blvd. Texas Ave.,, and W. Oakridge Rd..

The good is really good looking...it's a shame the bad and ugly look pretty bad. However, you would find this sort of thing in most areas. Some areas look nice, some bad. It's just how places are.

Actually none of those areas look good to me. I would rather have a home surrounded by pines or sawgrass.

I would take some pictures of Jacksonville but I don't want to get carjacked or shot. Maybe safe from an airplane.

That is my point.....Florida can be like anywhere else....We have the Good that could be as good as another state, and we have the bad that can be just as bad as another state, or we have the Ugly which is in other states but we have our own twist on it. People always come on here and say "Well Florida isn't as bad as ?".....or they say "Florida is the worst in the country".......

That is why i am posting pics of our area and also so people that are moving here dont have to wander about what is said on here when it comes to good and bad........they can take a look at the pics of different areas and know whether they would want to live there when they decide on places to move.

I wholeheartedly agree with this point. I have lived in Philadelphia, Washington, D.C., Long Island New York, Orlando, Charlotte, Raleigh and Dallas.

There were some really beautiful areas in those cities. And then there were some scary areas and then there were some inbetween. If you don't believe me, check out the NC forum where they have posted pictures of Raleigh and Greensboro and Winston Salem areas.

I nominate this post to be stickied!

I'll have to add some of my pics of my area when I get the opportunity next month.

In the Ugly section of my photos.....that is not really the ghetto......and in the bad section of my photos I was only driving down two "main" roads in Pine Hills and i am lucky i wasn't car jacked but since i had to take that way home that day i snapped some pics of my ride home.....i wouldn't go down those side streets in the bad parts of Orlando either..... I'll tell you that much.....unless i had family or friends that i had to visit that lived there.....who knows maybe i might end up having to live there someday...only time can tell
......I was on a really busy road that happens to run through the ghetto ......i wasnt where the drug dealers stand.......

I know there are areas in Jacksonville and in NYC and in other cities that are bad too but the reason why i get pissed is because of commenets like what you said about how you could get carjacked here and not there......It is not really that much worse in different ghetto areas in any city by comparison......you could get killed from crime as easy in Orlando as you could in Jacksonville's rough areas......i hate when people tell me that kind of stuff and think that Orlando is the only place ive lived...its funny how people say things to make one place sound rougher than another........and that is why you said what you did about being carjacked in Jacksonville

really no one that says that stuff is probably living in the ghetto to begin with but they are scared of the stereotypes of thier own city and when they go to another city then they say stuff like "It's not so bad here....Ive seen worse where im from".........its all about personal experience.....

There was a story on the Orlando local news 2 nights ago about this old black man that sold snack foods out of his house and he lived in the Paramore district which is the worst area of Orlando ....and someone broke into his house but he shot the guy and then they caught the guy he shot....and the old man found out it was someone he knew from selling snacks to all the people in the neighborhood.......The old man said this was the first time in his years that anyone had robbed him......

Well i never lived in the worst part of any town ive lived in and i have been in fights and been robbed at gunpoint and my car got broken into and had stuff stolen out of it.......so its all about your own experience and not about what city is worse because they all have thier moments.....even cities that arent as well known as the city you or i live in...
