Default Robinson Street

OH NO! don't you go on Robinson street, have you been on Robinson street, talk about shooting, and robbing, and... I worked on Amelia Street. I would not live on that street if someone gave me a home for free.

I would like to get some feedback as to where to live in Orlando considering my budget.

$2500/mo to rent initially for the 1st 6-12 months and then we would buy a house around $465K.

We (Wife and a baby) currently live in a 2,350 SF home with a pool (built in 98) in a nice gated WCI masterplanned community in SW Florida. Where would you want to live with that budget considering the job is located on East Robinson Street?

I would like to stay within a 30 Minute MAX driving time to work.

A Townhome or a Condo is out of the question for the Wife. (We also have 2 large Dogs). And of course she wants a pool, but it might not be possible.....She would also prefer to live close to shopping/restaurants and hopefully a nice area for jogging.....

I am researching on where to live now and I will probably rent for the 1st 6-12 months. If anyone could also give me an idea of good areas to find SF home rentals around $2500/month, I would truly appreciate it.

Thanks!

A great growing family area in Orlando is the South east area. It is the new area that is exploding with new developments of restaurants, shopping and golf courses. They have some of the best rated schools and they are building new ones. This is the area where the new UCF Medical School will be built to open in 2009. Three other major medical facilities will also be moving in as well. There is a premiere Golf Course Community called Eagle Creek that was just built approx. 3 years ago and there are a few homes for rent in your price range. Some as big as 5 bed 31/2 bath with large yards. you can check on Craigslist.com for ways to communicate with them.

I searched the homes in the downtown area and the norm ios they are small lots, older, and smaller, no pools for more money. On the West side there are some really nice new homes with pools, that tend to be 2500 sq ft and larger. They are in Ocoee and Windermere for the most part, even a few in Gotha. The drive to your work is pretty convenient as you would take the 408 straight into downtown. it would be a 15 min drive or so. If you could see these searches I think you might think the drive was worth it. Drop me a line if you want them forwarded to you, I saved them both.

I would say anything east of I-4 as far south as Michigan ave and as far north as Winter Park. Stay to the West of Conway. That area in general has nice older homes, within your price range you should be able to find something that's what you want. The Neighborhoods in this area to consider are Delaney Park, Baldwin Park, Thornton Park, Eola Heights, Eola South, Colonial Towne (North and South). A good rule of thumb is to look around any of the lakes in this area, they are usually surrounded by very nice homes. Also, I refer you to this area because there are alot of very nice areas outside of the city core but the traffic can be pretty bad. I would recommend living in the city for anyone who works downtown or close to it. I live and work downtown, the convenience of avoiding the commuter traffic is worth every trade off.
