Lightbulb Looking to move out of Poinciana

HI Everyone-
I am seeking some opinions..... My realtor is giving me some areas to go look into to buy a house. So let's see what everyone thinks about Azalea Park (32807), South Apopka (32703), 32805 (WAshington Shores). And I know there is crime every where and I know all about traffic. hey lets face I live Poinciana. Any information would be great. Can't wait to get out of Poinciana.

Thanks

Yeah all those places your realtor wants you to look at is like moving from one small town with some ghetto influences into actuall ghetto areas in Orlando...so i really don't see you feeling better in any of those options....I used to live in Azelea Park and i lived near Stonewall Jackson...let me tell ya....i heard helicopters out there alot and heard 2 shootings and always saw ambulances around ..the street i lived on over there was kinda quite but things were too close to the action sometimes...South Apopka is close to another Ghetto area too.......I second getting a new realtor...Good luck

Dear newyorker2000, do your homework [as I did] ,physically visit the area you plan to live in , talk to the neighbors, check out the neighborhood; also the nearby streets. The weekends are a good time to do this as people may be home from work. Ask them what they think of their neighborhood, would they recommend to a friend to move there. It takes guts to walk up to a stranger to speak to them but you will find a smile is a good introduction. Try to get in touch with a local Sheriff or Deputy and ask him (or her) about the area you are considering a move to. We have been living in Poinciana since mid October and our experience so far has been very positive, again a smile opens many doors.
Good luck

I can only assume your realtor is reccomending these area's because of the price range you are in? Those area's are all less than desireable. Post some of the criteria you were looking for including price range, and maybe we can come up with some better area's. Just off the top of my head there are some lower priced homes in casselberry that are in safer neighborhoods.

Default Choices???

Out of all your choices...

1. Azalea
2. Apopka

I WON'T even consider 32805....

3. CHANGE your REALTOR...

there are a lot more affordable areas that are better neighborhoods.

Those dont sound like really good options, based on what I have heard. Keep looking around, or perhaps find a new realtor.

What is your price range and all?
