Default Moving to Deltona

I hope someon may be able to help me out. My wife and I are moving to Deltona in March of 2008 from Denver, CO, hate the weather and cost of living out here. My wife is an ICU Nurse and I have an MBA in Healthcare administration. Of course, my wife has her pick of any hospital and will be able to make about $27.50 to start, $5 more per hour than here in Denver. I on the other hand am having a hard time finding anything that may benefit my degree or 15 years leadership in the military. Anyone know of any good recruiting firms in the Orlando area.

deltona isnt a good city to move to. There is a lot of gangs, home invasions, robberies, etc... they have a curfew there for teenagers now.

If you have more than 2 years of high school education, you'll be miserable in Deltona. I nicknamed it Helltona. No education, no money, nothing to do, crime, and so forth. It's truly a dreadful place in Florida.

Go to Seminole County. Deltona is a miserable place to live. I've been here for a little over a year and regret the day I ever visited Deltona. Racism is rampant! There is not a quality park for children. The library must be about 20 years old and it has not been updated for about that many years. The streets are DIRTY! Weeds grow all over city streets and no one seems to care. If you want to go see a movie, you will have drive down to Seminole County, Lake Mary, because there is no theater here. Orange City has one, but it's discusting.

I used to deliver pizza in Deltona and i got to see the whole town.....the area by I-4 is really nice but only a few streets over from there is how the rest of the town really is.......it is a weird town .....there are really nice houses next to middle class ones and then those are next to dumps with 10 mexicans all living in one house and that is all on one street.........the whole town is like that and then there is a small ghetto area near Deltona BLVD. but the town has a lower/middle class feel overall its kind of a little purto rico white/white trash feel to the town.......there are some really nice houses right on the edge of I-4 but that isnt how the town truly feels

If you are looking to be out of the hype from Orlando but still want that down to earth feel without the trash, then move west. I grew up in Orlando and everyone I know has moved to Clermont. Nice, clean, building up well, A rated schools and close to everything. The hospital out here has also more than doubled its size last year and they are planning to expand it even more. The name is South Lake Hospital and also check out Sherion, or
Bradley-Morris.com they are an excellent resource for top qualified ex-military professionals. Also Kelly Services and Cameron recruiting might help. Good luck and be careful. You may be bargaining for more thanyou can handle.

I lived in Deltona since the 8th grade and graduated from deltona high. Its not the greatest place in the world, lots of drugs/violence, the gangs are kind of a joke if you ask me. Lots of poor people, kinda like a ghetto, just keeps sucking you back in, Ive moved away from that place more times than I can count, and I always run out of money/options and have to move back. I geuss Ive got a safety net there, Ill be movin back there from hawaii at the end of the month/ lost my job out here. There isnt a lot of oportunity in Deltona , but hell, its cheap, and not that bad if you got the right kinda mindset to live there, you dig.
