![]() And if there were no illegal* aliens here then these jobs would pay a livable wage and more Americans would fill these jobs. This is one of the main reasons the middle class is disappearing. Supply and demand. There is a demand for cheap labor and there is plenty of supply. *ILLEGAL: not according to or authorized by law: UNLAWFUL, ILLICIT (Let's not forget that, and call it like it is) Last edited by markhunt; 09-10-2007 at 01:36 PM.. |

"They are definitely part of the equation. And so are a lot of the people who don't have English as a first language, or maybe at all, and have a third world or "ghetto", mentality about them. People who probably couldn't even tell you who the secretary of state for the U.S. is. Or even the vice president....and couldn't care less. People who are here illegally and fill up our emergency rooms because they have a cold and don't have health insurance. Or for that matter, not here illegally, and still fill up our ER's because they have no insurance. I could go on and on, but in a nutshell, people who by my standards of how I was raised and where I was raised, I would consider uncivilized"
your preachin to the choir on this one... and my biggest complaint arent the ones that are illegal. |

Its not as simple as 1,2,3, to just move....and running from problems isnt a good thing either....there are people like myself that have moved over 20 times in life and just tired of losing friends and losing the sense of what home is.....There are issues in Orlando and some of us complain maybe but most of us are just telling it like it is....i can tell you there was a murder on my block last week but i havent said a word about how i feel about it so its not really a complaint......
As for telling someone in power to listen to someone that has nothing....well you can only be heard in large groups.....and my words by experience dont have strong enough impact to pull a band of a thousand together to change the laws......When i was hit-n-run the cops did nothing and it was because the dispatcher(s) didnt take my problem serious and this is (my) experience in life along with alot of other people so maybe it isnt as easy to just tell someone to help us out but maybe it is easier for people that go around saying this is what we should do because it worked for them |

To be honest everyone needs to just live there life. I am 32 and have lived in Orlando for most of my life. I hate it here. In the past five years it has gotten bad. The crime is really bad. I can say that because I do Crime Scene Investigations and every night there is a murder. All of you need to really think hard. Yes everywhere has their crime but Orlando is 7th worst city now. Florida is the 10th worst state to live in but yet everyone still comes here. There must be something people like. It is the weather and that will never change. People always think Florida is great because of the theme parks and lots to do but after you live here you get used to all that and it isn't fun anymore. Let people figure out for themselves. They will once they move here. This is not a place to raise kids that is for sure. It is your choice so don't listen to others but take in their advice because trust me it is true. There are over 18 million people in the state of Florida and over a million in Orange County that is pretty bad. There is no land left really and sooner or later there will be no way someone can live here. It is very expensive. If I could sell my condo right now I would be out of Florida for sure but that is my opinion. Please just take in advice but experience it for youself as many people love it here as you can see.

to be 3rd or 4th in population, 10th in crime isnt too bad. however, i agree with orlando being bad now, and i did read that we are now the 7th most dangerous city to live in now.

This is the balance i was looking for...nice post....Florida is somewhere that people want to live because of beaches, weather, and things to do, but really....there is a worse problem with crime here than in most states in the U.S. overall....of coarse there is bad cities in the U.S. crime wise, but the Whole state of Florida even smaller towns have the elements that the bigger inercities have spread out all over the state in towns throughout Florida....Of coarse NY and L.A. have scary places in alot of parts of thier cities but in Upstate NY you wont see as much crime as Florida cities and towns overall and the same for California |
