Too many complainers here! (Miami, Orlando: work, house, crime)

People are going to drive bad and crime is everywhere, so why does the Orlando forum seem to get all the complainers for real. I don't think its necessary every time you see something bad in traffic to come over here and post it and expect us all to be like "yeah you're right, that was messed up, let me tell you what I saw." We can do this everyday, its not going to change. If you don't like it here simply move and if you really want something go talk to your Congressman or Senator because its really annoying, thank you!

It's alright to think that way........but some people like to vent and if you would rather them hold everything in and explode in traffic then thats all good .....its always better to let things out....if you get scarred from stories or don't like other peoples' experiences then all you have to do is not log on.....it is entertaining to me......and sometimes i find something i can relate to on here and don't feel so alone about things......


Not reporting crime or the bad things that happen is stupid.......no one here says they are going to commit suiside or give up on life because of crime.....i got robbed at gunpoint and guess what i am not in fear to go back in to that 7-11 so i think i am good at going through things and moving on.......reporting crime is good to inform people of what might be going on in the communities they live in......maybe ive been living in a part of Orlando and havent payed attention to the news but i come on here and find out people have been getting thier tires slashed in my neighborhood....


well maybe ill look out for it instead of not having an idea that it is going on in my area so what you think are just complainers are actually smart people and i thank them for letting me know stuff that the news might not find out


Its good to have your side of things to because it balances out everything and anyone can have thier own opinions on these posts

7 years.....im not in fear for my life out here unless im on Paramore or in Pine Hills but things happen all over Orlando.....Its not like groups of zombies coming up to your car to rob you or anything but there are things to keep an eye out for.....When i was robbed up in Altamonte i thought i was in a nice area and it didnt seem like the guy was some scarry monster when he pulled his gun....but i was in scock.....Ive lived in Altamonte Springs, Deltona, Old East Orlando near Semoran, and now down by International Drive

longislandmermaid, thaspecial is telling you/us what he/she feels. nothing wrong with that. you all come down here from ny and think everything's great and orlando is lovely and safe, but it's not. orlando has lots of problems.

That is fine as long as I can say what I think...I do not expect anything except to start fresh somewhere new in a place where I have felt really good each time I visit. I avoid areas and people that I don't feel good in. Many people want to get off of Long Island too for different reasons...some just talk and complain and others actually move. I try to look at the positive along with being cautious of the problems. Thaspecial says he thinks there are tons of things to love about Orlando but 98% of what he shares is negative. Since he knows these areas so well why not try to help us with info on the better schools and new attractions and other things that families would be interested in...We all have access to the local newspapers if we want the doom and gloom only.

Stepford?......I am from Miami.....LOL.....You think im "complaining about things?......Its not complaining because nothing really phases me at this point .......Ive been robbed at gunpoint and had a knife pulled on me in Downtown Orlando from an altercation and have been in 2 fights in traffic...you think im complaining....Im not......Im just telling it like it is.....i guess when you lived in NY that you saw nothing wrong at all.........Its good to vent or to report things ..........Its hard to believe that you actually think i am scarred after all ive seen.....i dont even want to begin with things i saw in Miami as a teen.....I like Orlando its just that there is a big spike in crime here right now and for those of us that have been here for a few years....we see the difference from now and a couple years back.......im not going into my room to cut my wrists over it but just reporting about it so that oblivious out of towners might watch for things when they get here and not think that Mickey Mouse has thier back and will protect them if something happens.......Thanks for backing me up backtofl..........there is people who dont live here yet that dont know anything but what theyve seen on their trips here and in the nice cozy neighborhoods they might be moving to out in Lakes of Windemere....then there are people who live here but are either oblivious or they just don't like all the negativity or at least they take the truth as being negative.....then there are people who are aware of thier surroundings and have actually been a victim of crime before and watch thier backs no matter what area they are in ............It is alot different trying to work paycheck to paycheck after moving here and living in a middle class or lower middle class area then it is moving here to a nice community and never having to see the real problems because you were fortunate enough to be able to sell a house and make a large profit to put into a nicer house down here....Its two different worlds in Orlando....there is the Rich and then there is the lower middleclass/poor.......middle class is becoming extinct here

If you go back and read my 500+ posts....not one time have i mentioned that i want to move .....i like it here but i am not oblivious........there are tons of people that visit Orlando ....near the attractions and think that is the city and then there are those who visit lokking to move here and see the fancy areas .....usually those type of people think wherever they came from is alot worse than Orlando.......i am just saying that Orlando has the same ghetto problems as any big city does and the same kind of neighborhoods as notoriously bad cities have.....but no one that is a tourist would ever know that.......


I didnt grow up here and i did live in 5 different states so i can kinda tell that some things are worse here or some things might be better here compared to other areas....if you only grew up in one area your whole life and come here and think everything is Disney or its going to be all hunky dory then i suggest getting a map and ill list off some areas to go look at in Orlando so that you can see its just the same as any other city ...there are real people of all kinds living here....not just the ones with the european soccer shirts and backpacks that you see walking to Wet n' Wild on your trips here

This topic isnt about me and the amount of negatives and positives i post about ......this topic is about complainers in Orlando and i wish you would stop making things personal and complaining that people are too negative....this isnt a forum to call people out on.........lets get back on topic here please......if this was about personal issues then i might tell you tons of reasons for my beliefs but its not about me or anyone personally...its about our basic opinions on issues....If you wanna get personal just PM me....So i apologize to everybody for posting those last two messages and almost hijacking this discussion......i guess this is what happens when i am called out by someone on a personal level, so now lets get this thing back on track
