My stepdaughter lives in the Dr. Phillips older area and she has recently starting seeing new signs up. The signs are reading Welcome to the Town of Windermere. WHat is that all about?

I am not sure of the signs that she is talking about but if you go north on Apopka Vineland (north of Bay Hill area) on the west side is Windermere.

I live in Winter Garden and my sister lives in Dr. Phillips. I've never seen the signs either.

Both areas are pretty upscale. Perhaps the town fathers have decided to allow the two to merge. This is new to me. I lived in Orlando for ten years, but those two areas were a little too pricey for me.

With all of the growth going on in the area, Windermere is simply marking its territory. There are a lot of communities / developments that want to claim the Windermere address and the town is probably trying to let people know exactly where the line starts and stops ... I know for sure that they have brought up the idea of annexing some of the nearby areas (Isleworth, for example) in order to draw more tax revenue ... they don't want everybody in though ...
