Greetings everyone!
My family is relocating from Texas to Davenport. Just wanted to know if I could get some feedback regarding:
**Pace of life there
**Schools ( I am especially concerned about my autistic daughter)
**Are utility costs there reasonable?
**Is it a family oriented city?

Any & all feedback is much appreciated!!!

Lot's of tourists on the northern part, pretty slow on the southern part.

TERRIBLE. Overall the worst schools in teh central Florida region.

Depends on your definition of reasonable.

It's not a city, more like a tiny town surrounded by a very rural area and further north a bunch of subdivisions, most of which house tourists and snow birds.

Overall it's not a very desirable area. Looks can be decieving.

Funny you should mention that. The owners whose home we're renting used it as a vacation home for tourists for a while.

We just moved from the Davenport (Champions Gate) area to Deltona. We had a one year lease on a home. The neighborhood was mostly short-term rentals (yes, vacationers). Our biggest complaint was since we were surrounded by vacationers - half are coming from a different time zone so they would arrive at all hours and start their vacation! If you don't mind tourists/neighbors swimming in their pools having a grand old time at all hours, waking you up at night then you'll probably be OK. If you work and have to get up in the morning, it can be annoying. I can't speak for the schools but most schools in this area (and Central Florida in general) are not good. The area itself is fairly safe. Our neighborhood had 24 hour security guard and a lot of the communities are gated. Traffic on I-4 near the attractions (you won't be far from Disney) can be an absolute nightmare. Hopefully you will be surrounded by long-term renters or owner occupied. Good luck!
