Smile move from honolulu to orlando/couple moving

HI there,
we are considering a move from honolulu to orlando to be closer to family.
I am originally from europe, loved honolulu and it's beautiful people.
Just toooo far away.
What do you think, I don't see any comments in 2012 about life in Orlando for a young couple in ther 20s and 30s.
I am originally from Europe, lived in Colorado and Hawaii so far.

Depends on what you are looking for? Do you have any specific questions about the city? About night life or entertainment, outdoor life, etc...? Orlando can be a great area for young couples, but it really depends on what you're looking for in a city.

What are you looking for in terms of lifestyle? Orlando is going to seem very different from Honolulu and Europe.

I lived in Florida for around 20 years, have friends who are currently in college in Orlando.

lets see.... Orlando/Florida = really bad economy. High crime rate. Limited jobs (seriously this is a big problem theres a lot of poor people in Florida) Real estate is really cheap right now though, housing prices are plummeting. People from Canada are buying up Florida homes like its a marathon right now. Kind of crowded but compared to honolulu its not crowded. Beach is atleast an hour away from Orlando.

The people are truly beautiful in Florida (I lived in Miami for a long time) I moved out of Florida about two years ago and seriously the girls are gorgeous there I didnt even realize how gorgeous the people in Florida really are until I moved to state with no beaches, 4 crazy seasons, and people who dont seem to dress up ever. Almost every other person in south florida could be a model. Tall, tan, long hair, slender, and dressed up to the nines. *sigh* I miss Florida.

Florida weather, water quality and air quality is FANTASTIC!!! I would be willing to go back right now just for those things but jobs are pretty hard to find there right now so thats whats keeping me in the state Im in right now.

If youre well off and money isnt a problem for you, RUN TO FLORIDA. Its beautiful there! Its definitely not what it was in the 90s but florida is still close to paradise
