Dear Orcawa
Lake Mary, Florida just finished number 4 in the nation for Fortune Magazine's Best Places to Live. My wife and I moved here 11 years ago with the same goals you have - safety & schools for our children. We have been very pleased with the Seminole County School system. I coach basketball and teach at one of the local high schools. My wife sells real estate and believes there is still good value to be found here. We know a lot about the school system here and We are very happy with it. Last edited by Keeper; 11-10-2007 at 07:09 PM. Reason: advertising |

Hello,
I just came across this site and your post. I'm considering relocating from Orlando to Colorado (maybe Denver?). Perhaps you could give me some advice... how is the job market (accountant), housing market, weather, etc? I'm a single 38 year-old woman with no children. Not into the club scene but appreciate a night out once in a while, some culture, etc. Also, how is the traffic for commuting? Orlando is pretty tough but I grew up in NY and lived for 13 years in NJ - it's bad there too. I guess there's going to be traffic wherever there are people! Coming from a cooler climate I'm having a difficult time adjusting to the constant heat and humidity here. Also, I'm finding that the job market isn't that great for my field. But if you want a lot of sunny days, you'll definitely get that. And the beaches/theme parks will be great for the kids. Any suggestions/comments for me on moving to Colorado? |

Hi,
If you must move here then you should might consider Seminole Co Public Schools for the best public schools in the area. Since you will be flying out only 3x per month, choose an area that offers safety, family-oriented, and progressive. Lake Mary is nice, Tuskawilla (if I am spelling it right) the Wachavia Springs area is also nice. God bless you and good luck. This place is not as nice as it use to be. I moving away from here this summer. |

I currently live in the neighborhood. Good community school/YMCA facility, lots of parks and families with children. Minutes from the Airport. Several homes for sale in neighborhood (including my own), range in sizes and prices depending on what you want/need.

Hi -
I recently moved here from out west and I believe I have a good idea of what you are looking for. Check out Clermont, it has beautiful rolling hills and the schools are good as well. Its also still affordable, and the people are super friendly, perfect for a family. My husband and I searched many builders and decided on Meritage Homes, we are currently building a home there and will move in shortly after the beginning of the year. Also, my husband works by the airport, it take him about 35-40 minutes to drive there but its worth it. I hope this helps. Good luck and welcome to florida ![]() |

Celebration is ok if you like the fake new england Mr Rodgers neighborhood style.
Winter park maitland or lake mary would be my choice. maybe college park around downtown is cool too. |
