Considering this as our place to live. Having shopping and restaurants near us is very important. What areas should we stay away from? I know UCF is minutes away, but what subdivisions aren't too close to the college? We prefer not to be too close to the school.

Also, any subdivisions you can recommend would also be appreciated. We have a son that will be entering 9th grade and hear great things about Hagerty and Oviedo HS.

What shops, restaurants and entertainment are near Oviedo?

Any input in Oviedo would be GREATLY appreciated

I would recommend the sanctuary or live oak. They are nice newer subdivisions in a quiet section of Oviedo. Both districted for Hagerty High. Near by shops and restaurants include grocery stores (publix and winn-dixie) and a select amount of small restaurants and chains at the lockwood intersection which is minutes from these subdivisions.. If you want more retail you can take mitchell hammock/red bug over to the Oviedo mall area or take alafaya down past ucf to Waterford Lakes where you will find an endless amont of shops and restaurants. winterpark is about 25 mins away, downtown Orlando is about 30 mins away and the Orlando tourist attractions are about 40 mins away (depending on traffic)

Sanc and live Oak are nice and new. I live in Carillon near the University and love it. Being near the university doesn't seem to be a problem except on game day. But it is an older subdivision than those mentioned.

Oviedo is a nice town.

Thank you both for the info! I will definitely look into Sanctuary and Live Oak! Is that in Twin Rivers (Or maybe it's Twin Lakes, can't remember now). I truly appreciate your feedback!
