Windermere and Dr. Phillips are too expensive. Does anyone know of cheaper housing between Disney and Florida Hospital South that is not too dangerous and has good schools??? (Middle and High Schools) We don't want to be too far from work (Florida Hospital South) and would like to be closer to tourist attractions. Disney, I-Drive etc. We are fine buying an older home.

Thanks

By Florida Hospital South do you mean Main Campus??? If so I would consider Hunter's Creek, Conway, Audubon Park, College Park, and Colonialtown for more affordable homes.

Yes Main Campus. What part of Conway?

Great list as usual, Crane's Rooster. Depending on the OP's criteria for cheap, though, some of these places may still be expensive. But if doable, these are great areas!

Williamsburg is another option, a bit older, but you say you don't mind that. It's closer to Hunter's Creek, which puts you farther away from the Florida Hospital, but closer to the attractions. Pretty affordable houses from 75,000-300,000 dollars.

Conway would be better for proximity toward Florida Hospital though. Perhaps try looking around near the bordering neighborhoods, Edgewood, Pinecastle, and Belle Isle (if you can afford this one). Belle Isle is especially pretty with the low hanging trees on the older homes, but the former two should be less expensive. If you decide on Conway, I'd try to avoid living too close to the 436/Semoran, as it does it heavy in traffic and can attract some problems. Likewise, if you decide on any of these neighborhoods, try to avoid being too close to Orange Blossom Trail for the same issues.

Good luck OP!

I too would recommend Williamsburg. It's an older neighborhood (built in early 80s I think), but very established and overall well kept up, also quite safe.

Really anything west of Semoran and North of of Belle Isle is going to be the best price range but as Chulchinmae stated, the further from Semoran the better (in general). The neighborhood directly to the east of Conway road are fine.

I drive by that area on the way to Costco. Seems safe.

Also look at the back side of Disney, newer communities and you can either take 429 to the 408 or cut through back roads to I-4.

The cool part is watching Disney fire works nightly.

Hope this helps,
