Moving up to Orlando what's a good area to look for places, I come from an expensive city where apartments are the prices of homes in Orlando. Thinking of Kissimmee or poinciana because of the deals on home but also apartments in downtown where I hear gays tend to live. Any advice?

No doubt downtown. Thornton park, college park or delaney park. Please forget poinciana and Kissimmee, it is cheap for good reason.

Thornton Park, absolutely. If you'd rather a small house instead of an apartment, check out the Mills/50 area. It is also very gay-friendly, and you might be able to find a house for rent there.

The 50/Mills area is Colonialtown--very gay friendly area and lots of houses are rentals in that area.

Downtown is a very gay area especially Thornton park. Another good area would be Millenia/Dr. Phillips, a lot tend to live over there as well, if you want more of a suburban setting with lots of shopping.

As I'm not really a proponent of any kind of segregation, I'd say move to any good neighborhood. That said, Downtown is nice but pricey. I believe The Grand is one of the cheaper options, but still nice, and has parking included. No dogs though.

Default Poinciana

There's lots of family down here in Poinciana - my partner and I love it here.
