Relocating from Germany to Orlando and getting worried... (Tampa, Altamonte Springs: credit, property taxes)

I don't know what you will be able to actually afford over here when you move but im assuming that it will be kind of rough for you financial at the begining ......so if you plan on getting something temporary like a townhouse or apartment i would look into Altamonte Springs or Maitland.....But if you do have money to buy a house maybe Terry Riddle can suggest some areas, because all i know is the affordable safer areas that you can get an apartment because i personally dont make enough income to rent or own a house in a truly safe area

Wodan, I own a house on the border of Winter Garden and Windermere but will not live there permanently until Oct. I am not familiar with the tax situation you are referring to. However, it was suggested to me that I wait to get there before I apply for jobs. You are up against too many qualified people who are ready to work immediately. I have also heard that there should be a lot of jobs opening up due to so many businesses moving into the Orlando areas. Shoot me for being optimistic but it is my (and everyone's) option. Besides I have heard if from my bud who is a commercial realtor/developer. Good luck...anyone who really wants to work will work.

ThatSpecial - I believe Lockheed mostly hires engineers off the street. They will hire temps though. I think you should sign up with Kelly Temporary Services because I've heard that is where they get all their administrative/accounting and other business types. My friend in PA was hired with Lockheed after going through Account Temps. Just put a little time in as a temp and you'll get hired eventually....if you're good. You could also call around to other temp agencies to see if they place temps in Lockheed.

Thanks for the advice.....i actually had an interview a couple months ago over there and after that i went back and dressed nice and asked if they heard anything about me getting that position....they did the run around on me and said that i should come back in a week when the manager of that position was around..(he was supposedly out of town on buisness)......i came back and they said they would take my number and get back with me.....well its been a couple months and no call

I applied for an assembley position ......I guess my GPA was low or something.....I don't know.....or maybe i didnt rub off the right way to the guy who interviewed me.....i still need to finish school though so thats the plan right now.....sorry to speak of something other than what the thread is about .......ill stop for now....someone wanted to know so i had to answer
