I would agree with Clermont and also Ocoee if you want to be a touch closer in. Clermont can be inconvenient depending on where you work.
my wife and i are considering relocating to De bary , what do you think of this
community. Also can you give us an idea of how much we will pay for property taxes in Debary home price $245,000.

How about giving us a better idea if Debary is out. We would like to stay close to this area to be near family.

I have visited Cleremont and it wasn't my cup of tea.
Sorry...i didnt know you were a she....lol...my bad......Well hearing that you are living in Pembroke Pines.....(i used to go to that mall out there alot)........and hearing that you are just starting out.......I would say that you should look into areas for apartments in Altamonte Springs or Maitland......I lived right by the Altamonte Mall before.....here is a couple pics i took a few weeks ago of that area

On the east side of the mall on Palm Springs blvd.

On the east side of the mall on Palm Springs blvd. #2

On the east side of the mall on Palm Springs blvd. #3

The Mall parking lot

The Altamonte Movie theater

Altamonte movie theater #2 practically a block walk from the mall....the mall is right behind where i took this pic

Altamonte Mall

Altamonte Mall #2

Some office buildings on the west side of the mall between Crane's roost lake and the mall

Looking towards cranes Roost park looking west

Looking towards cranes Roost park looking west #2

Looking towards cranes Roost park looking west #3

Gina's resturant on Crane's Roost lake/park

Crane's Roost Park....they have a big fireworks show here every year on July 3rd to celebrate the 4th.....and there is a concert out here too with lots of artists.....Jessica Simpson performed out there a couple years ago.....O-Town was there too...im not into those groups but just letting you know what kind of event it is....about 100,000 people come every year....and every day they have some kind of event going on at the lake...i remember seeing boat races there a couple times

Crane's Roost Lake #2

New Condo's on the Lake

On sr436 in front of the mall area

New Uptown Altamonte

New Uptown Altamonte #2

those apartments were about $750-$800 a month for a 2 bedroom and 2 bath.........the area by the mall feels pretty safe and there is a nice atmosphere out there .....by atmosphere i mean that there is alot going on for it being a suburb of Orlando.....there are always people walking around Crane's Roost lake/park......which is right next to a mall/movie theater/new downtown type of area.....there are lots of resturants in the area and a couple of grocery stores too.....i actually wished we would have stayed there......it doesnt feel like the country or anything like Clermont but it is a suburb.......

The area to stay away from in Altamonte to be safe would be if you look at a map and look for the altamonte mall and go east...when you see ronald regan blvd.. dont pick anything east of there from Ronald Regan blvd over to state road 17-92....that small area is like a little ghetto area.....

here is a pic from that area so you can get a feel for it...just look close at the pic and you'll see a shopping cart next to the house. Looks like some homeless guy left his stuff in it.....

On Ronald Regan Blvd

Near Ronald Regan Blvd

not terrible crimes happening but trust me it is ghetto but i had to live in worse than that before so if thats all you can afford just know that there isnt a terrible amount of crime there but if you can afford more than that kind of area then dont go there.......

.but other than that ....

Maitland which is next to Altamonte Springs is also a relativly safe area with a suburban feel without the mall, but the Orlando Magic's practice center is there called the RVD Sportsplex and anyone can sign up and pay to use that center...they have ice skating rink, basketball courts, and alot of other things......but Maitland is closer to downtown and right next to Altamonte which is a happening suburb out here......i dont know too much about the south part of Maitland ....but i know as soon as you get to Silver Star RD. that it starts becoming ghetto and going towards the Pine Hills area which is like a mix of Carol City and liberty city.....thats the only way i could describe Pine Hills.....Good Luck....and if you wanna know more just give me a private message if you want

TerryRiddle, I would not even waste your time or breath (excuse me, typing) arguing or dissagreeing with these jealous wannabees. They will only depress you while they take comfort in each other's miserable stories of failure. They don't even know they can be happy and successful. Be happy that you realize your capabilities. Congrats on doing well in real estate especially in this market. I am a realtor LI NY and I can't wait to move to Windermere/Wintergarden. Obviously we are taking a hit up here but probably not as bad as Fl and NC. I lost approx $200k since my closing in Nov, 2005 in Independence and even more in NC...oh well...starting over. But don't let anyone tell you the market is better in NC, it's slow all over.

There are people who know it all everywhere in the world.....For outsiders who do not live here at all.....please live here for a year or more before you give advice to people that want to move here....i believe i have said more positive than negative on this thread....but i guess people want to believe that there is "NO" negatives in thier perfect world .......nobody's problems are justified as being worse then anothers until you have walked in thier shoes

Thanks, ThaSpecial. I refuse to live in the ghetto just so I can move out of my parents house. How is the job market for someone starting out up there? My first job offer was for $7.50 an hour, I wanted to scream!
