How is the job market in Orlando? I live in South FL now and I can't stand it. My family and a few friends say its a little slower, but its much better than South Florida.
I visited a few times and like it so far. Any input on the young professional crowds would be helpful. |

My wife and I have been here for 11 years and would not change a thing. We are 37 and 36 and obviously 26 and 25 when we started here.

We love the area of Orlando, and we live in a suburb called Lake Mary. We like to visit south florida very much, however it would be very expensive for us to live down there. We really enjoy the area, we love being able to drive 45 min. to the beach, or 45 min. to disney too. there are lots of great places in and around orlando for young professionals too. i hope this helps!

both comments above are from realtors, just so you are aware. i'm sure their great folks, but i have a different opinion. dont move to orlando, it isnt any better than a lot of s fla. move to n fla or nc/sc. you will see many of your friends up in the nc/sc areas. that's where everyone is moving to. suprised the realtors above havent moved there yet. more sales = more money. right?

i've been very proud of living here in lake mary long before my current profession. i used to work as an E.M.T. on an ambulance here, and proudly served citizens with 911 calls all over Seminole county for several years. I can understand I may sound bias, but I am truly am proud to own a home here, work here, and have my daughter attend school here. Even if I changed professions, I would still live here in Lake Mary.

What part of South Florida are you currently living in?.....I lived down there in Northwest Dade growing up....I have lived in the Orlando area for the last 7 years though......I have lived in Altamonte Springs, Deltona, Azelea Park, and now down by I-Drive.....i have seen most of the area and might be able to tell you if it would be a step up for you depending on where you are at down there....but other people are right on here......maybe you should look into North Carolina, Tennessee, or Georgia.....i lived in Nashville too....and as soon as you get to Valdosta you feel a whole other attitude compared to Florida
