I never remember getting notice in any statements, seeing a notification on my tv, or otherwise being notified that one of
my favorite channels was being taken off the air. Did anybody else know that was coming? I'm ticked!

There are some negotiations being made between Hearst Television and Brighthouse/Time Warner. Today, instead of broadcasting WESH on channel 4, a local news station from Scranton was being broadcast. Very, very strange.. and annoying. I think MeTV is affiliated with WESH.. therefore they've stopped the broadcast.

I found this article on WESH's site:
]Notice for Bright House subscribers | On TV - WESH Home

And another one about it here:
Bright House switches to out-of-state NBC affiliate after WESH contract expires - News

Boy, this really sucks! How am I going to watch all of my classic sitcoms now?

Yes. WESH and its CW affiliate are gone for now until negotiations are settled.

DirecTV customers just lost all Viacom stations today.

Because oddly enough DirecTV wasn't willing to pay the whopping 30% increase that Viacom was demanding. What are these companies thinking? DirecTV customers lose access to Viacom channels - Chicago Tribune

This is the third major network in the past few years Bright House has had this problem with. It's sad!

I switched to Comcast and despite how many people hate them, I don't seem to remember anything like this happening to them in recent years.

Bright House...Hello friend...yeah right!

I'll bet Martha Sugarleski's panties are in a wad about this.

It may cause her to get yet another blond dye job.

But do we know it was BrightHouse? Maybe it was Wesh who thought they could make a better deal because it is so close to the Olympics and got stuck holding the bag when Brighthouse didn't cave in to them....I don't really know what went on in negotiations. Wesh is the one losing out.....no one on Bright House is seeing the commercials so no one is taking advantage of deals companies are advertising on Wesh.....

I have to admit I had to Google Me TV to find out what it is.....never watched it so not missing it.
as for missing local news on Wesh-still ABC and CBS which are no better or worse than Wesh was.

It's not WESH, they're only a podunk local affiliate...NBC is the parent company.
