I am planning a trip to Orlando during the week of Thanksgiving and would like to know how the weather is during that time of year?
I would like to know how the crowd is during this time of year at Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure? Is this a good time of year to visit the theme parks? I would like to know if anyone has ever stayed at the Hyatt Place Orlando Universal? If so, is it a nice hotel? What did you like about it and what did you dislike about it? Are the parks really open on Thanksgiving day? What else is there to do for a family of 4 (1 adult and 3 children) near the Hyatt within a short driving distance? We visited Disney World this summer. Thanks in advance |

The weather is really nice usually this time of year...not too cold or too hot....about 70's in the day time and hardly ever rains this time of year Any holiday is kind of busy at the theme parks here ....my proof is that i deliver pizza in the Disney area and our store and other competitors stay open on Thanksgiving and Christmas because of all the people in town......It might be better to come the week before or week after Thanksgiving or just save some money for fast passes at the parks and you wont have to worry about how many people there are here.. For other things to do in that area...i would take those kids over to International drive and go to this place called "magical midway" It is located right on Carrier drive and International drive if you look at a map its right there near the corner of that intersection......it has some go cart tracks some small and big rides and an arcade......It's kind of a mini version of "Old town" without all the shops....you dont have to pay to get in there ....just have to pay for each ride or game you play....."Fun Spot" is alright to...its kinda the same thing but it is a rip off to me....you actually have to pay to get into that place.........If you want to get some food for cheap near I-Drive...they have a Cici's Pizza near "Magical Midway".....and its a buffet with pizza and deserts and it only costs about $3.99 for each person, it has an atmosphere for kids (that's why im telling you).. but there are lots of other places to eat over there too....if you are into Chucky Cheese ...they have one right there too.....there is a nice movie theatre at "Pointe Orlando" on I-Drive to just incase it is raining and you cant go to the parks....."Pointe Orlando" is an upscale kind of outdoor mall.....i wouldnt say it is for kids but it is really nice and the movie theatre has an I-Max theatre and that would be cool for the kids if you have an extra couple bucks compared to a regular movie ticket price.........and there is a pretty nice little mall on the north part of I-Drive called "Festival Bay" and that has a skate park and they rent out pads and skate boards and it has an arcade upstairs....and also in "Festival Bay" they have a glow in the dark miniture golf place and a nice movie theatre there too Last edited by THASPECIAL; 09-30-2007 at 02:17 PM.. |

Try International Drive ... there are go-karts, miniature golf, Wet 'N Wild water park, and tons of other stuff that you can do one day ... Also, since you're staying near Universal, you should try Carmela's restaurant. It's great Italian food and excellent pizzas. Right next to Hooters.

Keep in mind....... cause I learned the hard way, Universal Studios has water rides. Rides you WILL get wet on. Then some of the rides are air conditioned (very cold when wet) Pack a towel and possibly a change of clothes. I ended up spending a bunch of money on towels there.
I wish I could get you a map of Universal. That way you could plan the "dry" rides first, then tackle the "wet" rides. Good luck and have fun ! |

I've stayed at that Hyatt before...it just changed to a Hyatt in April so all the rooms are newly re-done. My room was really nice...it had a big screen TV and a contemporary interior. I was actually really surprised, I didn't expect it to be so nice...probably one of the nicest places I've stayed at for the money. Staff was nice too, they even called to ask how the room was shortly after I checked in. |
