where are u from loveithere?
and how much are your hoa fees in the "real" avalon pk? and what makes your home less desirable? which leads me back to my original question................. are they building section 8 at the corner of 50/avalon pk boulevard? |

What would make my home less desirable is if AVALON PARK is associated with Section 8 housing. Who would want to pay to live next to THAT...and YES the advisory board does believe the corner of 50 and AVALON blvd is SECTION 8 housing...Like I said GOOD LUCK to those of you trying to sell in avalon..Once its known" AVALON PARK" HAS SECTION 8 HOUSING..I am sure potential buyers will look elsewhere

thanks for answering my original question. but i am still not totally convinced that is section 8 housing. and just b/c i live in an area that isnt "avalon pk" doesnt mean others that live close arent affected by it too. living more towards colonial by the h.s. isnt exactly like section 8 living. so you can keep your pinky down. oh wait, you dont even live in these areas?

I talked to 2 builders this week who are branching into section 8/lower cost housing. With building materials so inexpensive now, they are working up house plans for about 1200 sq. ft. houses.

This is section 8 housing. My friend built a 3000 sq ft house there last year and now has it listed for sale at a loss because of these apartments. |

Avalon Park was undesirable even before Section 8 housing: bad traffic, seedy areas of East Colonial, and shaky property values.

"this is section 8 housing."

wow backtoFL you really can't get over the fact that i said I would like a clearer entrance into avalon park where it begins and ends...are you UPSET that YOU are not in MY book considered to be an AVALON PARK resident..cuz there are homes still homes for sale...and now that word on the street will be that AVALON PARK HAS SECTION 8 HOUSEING..I am sure you can get a great deal on a large home!!!!!

I thought section 8 housing could be offered by anyone. If a single landlord wants to rent his/her house to losers, they can do it by filling out a few forms. At least this is how it is in Ohio (I don't know what it's called up there) but my sister has about 10 rentals, two of which are in crappy areas, and she does the government thing.
She's trying to sell them now because she said all of her renters over the past 7 years have been animals, and the house is a disgusting mess. Something to look forward to as Central Florida continues to cater to the lazy and to those who traditionally make bad life choices. Does anyone know how the section 8 thing works down here? It's not limited to apartments right? |
