Come on now, you can't expect people to drive 45 minutes in this traffic to rob a place can you? Where will the folks in Avalon Park get thier crime and sense of ghetto if they don't have convenient access to section 8 living conditions?

Plus, you gotta have a way for scumbags and illegals to put their kids in good schools!

LOL

you dont think they will venture into the nice subdivisions right down the road then? really? they can literally drive less than one mile (basically cross the street) and they will be in a 250k - 400k neighborhood.

I spoke with Avalon park advisory board and the woman I spoke with said she did believe that there will be low income housing off of east colonial...she was also quick to point out that is it NOT AVALON PARK , its not associated with AVALON PARK..and its Orange county that we would have to deal with...I however think that whomever lives in the low income housing will declare that they are living in AVALON PARK and that could potentially give Avalon Park a really bad reputation...HOWEVER ...I did look up other master planned community's such as the LAKE NONA area and BALDWIN PARK and they ALL offer lower income housing. There needs to be a very clear entrance to the back of Avalon ...I hate that anyone who lives near east colonial in the Back past the high school can say that live in Avalon...they Do not...the builders are at fault for that..they use the name in order to sell the homes..once they move in and find out they aren't even zoned for the same elementary as the kids in Avalon..they may have a problem with it as well

thanks for the info. but it sounds a little snobbish to say that ppl that live passed the hs can claim avalon pk too. are u saying ppl In avalon pk are better or something? those houses by toll bros in the back are just as nice as the ones in the front.

so they arent going to be section 8 at the corner of 50/avalon pk boulevard???

I am sorry you thought I was being snobbish...I don't remember saying that any one person was better then another in AVALON PARK...lets just say you OWN a home that you bought IN AVALON park...would you like ANYONE in the proximity of the area who do NOT pay the HOAS the YOU PAY TO LIVE IN THE COMMUNITY..stake claim to YOUR neighboorhood...I looked at the tollbros homes and while they were very nice....as the people who live in them are probably very nice..they DO NOT live in AVALON. I also don't want to claim the section 8 area of "AVALON" as my community...DOES that make me a snob...I have to live with the financial hit on the price of my home..when lower income housing clames avalon as THEIR COMMUNITY WHEN ITS NOT...Just as ALGAE said cross another off my list...how many others out there will do the same thing...making my home less desirable then it is now....so if that makes me a snob...then I am a snob
