Ha! As I sit here at my desk on a conference call with about 3 dozen people (not listening of course!), I can hear them screaming in spanish and playing that god-aweful latin music out in the production facility.

I feel like I have been on a vacation in Latin America that never ended, and now I just want to go home.

stupidflanders, i know the feeling. i live in a nice neighborhood, no doubt. BUT, the white folks --- the very few that are living here in my subdivision are leaving. i had one family around the corner leave (probably to nc/sc/tn) and they were replaced by pr'ns who play that crappy raggaeton music, and they have a pitbull. so what is going on here you ask? atleast in my neighborhood, it is a cycle of whites moving out and pr's moving in --- it wouldnt be a problem if it werent for 3-5 things:

1. a few have been speeding very fast and aggressively
2. they leave their trash cans out for days on end.
3. the music blaring
4. they dont wave back/arent friendly
5. i feel like i am in puerto-rico and i am isolated.

I hired a PR guy from New York and he is one of the nicest and most professional guys you will ever meet. He is an employee, but is fast becoming a personal friend.

What's his biggest problem with Orlando? Here's a direct quote from this afternoon: "What the ____ is up with all these ____ PR's around here? I mean my god, I'm ashamed to even tell people where I'm from. I'd tell people I was ____ Greek if they couldnt tell from my accent".

Again, for me, it's not about the race, it's about the class. Orlando is filled with low-class ghetto trash!

exactly right. i never thought this way about pr'ns before. they gave me this impression and i saw it/observed it.

many of my disappointing experiences here have involved pr'ns.

the lady that cut my hair is half puerto-rican. she moved out of kissimmee b/c she was tired of being around them. she said signs and everything else was in spanish now, and she had enough. so she moved to orlando. not sure how much better it is over here. she said she visited pr recently. she said the driving, the violence, and the drugs are terrible there. no wonder orlando is going down the tubes.

This is where i can GO OFF now. I was invovled in an accident about 6 months ago...11 pm...drunk guy (hispanic male) turns left right in front of my jeep...maybe 1 sec to slam on the brakes. (the rare nice folks seemed to all be at the intersection because my BF told me there was atleast 5 witnesses that stayed to help us) I was the passenger and my BF was driving my car. I dont remember the accident becuase i got that whole night knoced outta my memory form hitting my head on the window (prob wouldnt be as lucky if i didnt have my sealt belt on)..........yadda yadda yadda..cops come, guy is unconscious so they take him away in ambulence....here's the fun part. No ID on the guy...so police report has no name....registration is expired, no insurance could be found (speculated it was a stolen car).....but by golly you better believe they were questioning my BF left and right about my insurance, if we had been drinking yadda yadda yadda..... and me too apparently (but i dont remember haha)....i go to the ER room for the night (WHAT A LOVELY BILL)....car was totaled...costs just as much to fix it than getting a new car. So im stuck with all this krap and this guy gets off without even a slap on the wrist. We followed up for months with the Police and they just didnt seem to care. So i guess it pays to be an immigrant in this state, u can bypass lots of laws and do things like DRIVING WITHOUT INSURANCE, DRIVING DRUNK, and STEALING CARS.

ok i promise i wont be one of those people who rights about the same incident over and over again....

I was very lucky i had a good insurance plan, they took care of everything...well not everything...i still had to shell out a few for a car..but they gave me a generous amt for my jeep and have even offered me (got the call today) some extra money for pain and suffering since the other guy was unknown and no insurance.

I was just angry cuz it was my first authentic encounter with some of the krappyness that is Orlando. (and i had gone 11 years without one).

These idiot drivers... and my wife wonders why I've taken to flipping people off now and have no problem chasing them down if it came to that. I am NOT taking this crap!

I've also learned another trick...when i spot these idiots in the rearview... I position to block. What I find funny is when I do it they don't even flich. Like no big deal.... most drivers would get pissed. So it's pretty obvious these people are truely clueless and have no idea how anything functions here...
