visit nc... then come back...
i think many orlando'ans could use a trip to nc and just observe the way polite ppl act. i was shocked at how nice they were up there in nc, and how rude we are in orlando. i think many orlando'ans need to go to nc for a visit, and bring some of that back to orlando.
i still, to this day, am just amazed at how some of the ppl here in orlando behave and act. it's almost embarassing.
oh what the heck........a lot of you will be living up there in 3-5 yrs anyhow. you'll see the difference

You are 100% right.....The only people that will disagree are those from major cities up north that just moved here recently, and some of the other people that have lived in surrounding areas for a while and have never taken a trip out of state and haven't seen the difference because when you are here things change slowly and there's not a huge difference because you are just used to being here and seeing more people doing the same things everyday (acting rude)......i visited Tennessee last year and as soon as we drove into Valdosta Georgia i felt a dramatic difference compared to Orlando and alot of Florida.....this black lady (in her 20's) in Valdosta was crossing the street and we stopped so she could get across and and she actually smiled and waved at us.....and all around Tennessee i noticed a kindness that they have that is lacking and is rare in Florida...and i am sure you are speaking of the same thing about North Carolina....too bad that so many people are blind from having lived in places where it is common to just be rude so they dont see the difference...im with you backtofl.....before anyone says we are wrong you guys should visit any other state north of Florida and south of Indiana and i would say small towns up north too....but i know for sure that even the bigger cities in the south have a kindness about the people that you can't find in Florida, so you all need to get out of Florida and out of the big northeast cities before you judge what me and backtofl are saying...visit a nice place before judging us

my cousin who has lived here for yrs just seems to assume everyone is rude, cuts ppl off in traffic, and have crime problems. uhhhh. no!
i tell him, remember what fla used to be like before the invasion? now everyone is from nj or puerto-rico, and we are not the state we oncw were. it's sad what has happened to fla. i thought i'd never want to leave fla once i got back here, but the ppl here are just like they are in nyc, philly, chicago, miami, and san juan.

This thread is hilarious to me. I grew up in SC..just 6 miles from the NC/Charlotte border. My family still lives there. I spend at least 2-3 weeks a year visiting there. I can't wait to get back to Orlando everytime I go....and my family would LOVE to move here, but they can't afford it. They can't get enough out of their house there to buy anything here.
I guess the grass is always greener.

I'm curious. Would you have stopped for that lady to cross if it had happened in Orlando?

Maybe we should hang out in the NC/SC or any of those other polite, perfect states and find out how green the grass is REALLY.

Trust me, theres alot of jerks here too. They are everywhere.
But people certainly are on less of an edge here than down there.
I remember when I first moved here a kid accidentally stepped on my new shoe and I was about to shove a pencil down his throat an break him off something proper instinctively when he said. "Man chill, we are friends."
And than I was like. "Yeah, hes right. Friends don't hurt other friends. "

i've lived both places, nc and fla. fla is my first love --- born and raised here. i will always love it and defend it. it was at one time a great place to live, before the invasion.
as far as ppl being polite and nice, nc is miles ahead of fla. we are the ny of the south.
